You Don't Want a War - So What?

That, according to White House spokesman Tony Snow, will be his boss' message when he addresses the American people Wednesday night on the Iraq war.

The last election and numerous polls have shown the American people have turned sharply opposed to the Iraq war so Bush will need to find a way to negate their clearly stated views. Snow revealed how Bush intends to do that:

"White House press secretary Tony Snow said today that Bush 'understands there is a lot of public anxiety' about the war. On the other hand, he said that Americans 'don't want another Sept. 11' type of terrorist attack and that it is wiser to confront terrorists overseas in Iraq and other battlegrounds rather than in the United States.

Father knows best. Sure you don't want "A" but you don't want "B" either and, since I claim "B" is the natural result of "A" I'll go ahead and do what I want, that is to say "A", anyway because I'm really doing what you want - even if you don't realize it.
