Two of Three Canadians Distrust Sideshow Steve Harper

Steve Harper may have ruled us for many years but he hasn't won our affection or even our trust.   Two out of three of us, in fact, still believe Harper is up to something he's concealing from us.

Two-thirds of Canadians believe Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservative government is too secretive and has failed to govern with high ethical standards, a new poll has found.

The national survey conducted exclusively for Postmedia News and Global Television by Ipsos Reid also finds that after seven years in office, half of the country still believes that Harper has a “hidden agenda.”

Ipsos Reid CEO Darrell Bricker said in an interview that while Harper is maintaining support from his base of supporters, there is increasing public fatigue about the way the prime minister governs the country.

“There’s not a lot of objection to what Stephen Harper is actually doing in terms of public policy, given that the preoccupation of his coalition is on the economy,” said Bricker.

“This is as much of a style problem as it is a substance problem. They see him as secretive. They see him as still having a hidden agenda. They see him as somebody who is not particularly nice.”

I suppose "not particularly nice" today is code for a real, underhanded prick.

I'm not so sure harper's agenda is all that hidden. I think he's quite clear about what he's doing. The problem is he's brilliant at re-framing and using code to fool the masses, tricks he's learned from the US right wing, and it's working here.

What's with Canada ? Are we disconnected from reality ? Perhaps its just ludicrously simplistic thinking or extreme lack of situational awareness.. but what's this nonsense about a 'hidden agenda'. Its right there, as plain as day.

The First Nations, Canada's scientists & biologists, retired or injured military, commercial fishermen, sawmill workers or farmers have no problem identifying Stephen Harper's in plain sight agenda.. and don't need a poll to inform themselves. After all, its the same malicious, divisive, destructive agenda Tom Flanagan has been whispering in everyone's ear since he arrived here from America.. and its embedded & bare naked obvious in essentially every Harper quote, policy and legislation. Those two are peas in a supremacist pod.

Stephen Harper's just not into us. None of us matter.
He's so smart, we're all stupid. Truth is not part of Stephen's personal or political agenda.. end of story.

Instead, Harper is into himself first.. and Israel, tar sands, China, fracking, union busting, secrecy in government, farmed salmon, electoral control, super tankers, prorogues, incompetent MP's, personal power, data mining, obstruction of justice, muzzling public servants, dividing Canada, anti-environmentalism, evangelism, media minding, resource stripping, selling out, cover ups, torture, destroying The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, middle east war, bluster, election fraud, extinguishing treaties.. robocalls, smearing, attack politics, dirty tricks etc.

Canadians need a poll to tell us what we think or feel or what to think or feel .. well, which is it? Both choices indicate failure at the level of the masses.. the citizenry. That's the level below the know it all mainstream media and far far below the exalted levels of cronies, aides, MP's, Ministers.. who serve at the pleasure of the great western cowboy piece of work himself.

Much of the smarmy bafflegarb from Ipsos Reid CEO Bricker is insulting to any one in Canada who can read. "This is as much a style problem as it is a substance problem." Since when do we award points 'for style' when confronted by immoral omnibus legislation gutting environmental legislation? And Harper's “strong suit is economic management and competence" Where did he rent that complete fallacy from?

“There’s got to be a way that sugar can be put into this so that people can actually learn to appreciate what he has achieved and what it is that he’s trying to do on their behalf"

I feel like barfing when I read creepy stuff like that...
