Tuesday Night Rock

Knopfler, Clapton, Sting and Phil Collins on the drums.  That's rock'n roll.

And, if Blues is your thing, tell me what's better than Howlin' Wolf - Smokestack Lightning.

have you ever seen Cadillac Records, Mound? It is a film I think you might enjoy, dealing as it does with the record company that promoted artists like Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters.

Ah. Just what I needed this morning.
I think I'll quit reading the news for a while and just listen to all my old vinyl.

Your post "Monckton Down Under".

Do you know a way to stop him?

@ Lorne - yes, I've seen it a few times. You'll remember the young man they wanted to sign, offering him a Cadillac. He said he'd stick with his beat up old pickup truck. That was Chester Arthur Burnett, Howlin' Wolf.

Burnett was known for his unrivaled ability to bring down the house. Unlike so many of his contemporaries he abstained from drugs, alcohol and women other than his wife, a preacher's daughter.

At 6'6", 300 pounds, people didn't mess with this guy.

@ Karen. Hi. Yeah there is something restorative about this sort of music.

@ LD - Opit is an idiot. Have you asked him to stop reposting your stuff? I just pay him no mind.

Mound, you cannot leave a comment on his site. In response to his comment on my blog I have indicated that he must not repost others' posts without their permission. I hope he reads it.

Ahhhhh, so good. Mark Knopfler is a god of the guitar. The rest are grand, too, but I've always been a Knopfler fan.
