It's aptly named "Politicians Discussing Global Warming."

NPoV - I read the Arctic News extinction piece. Could the described phenomena unfold? I suppose so. Yet, surely were that the case, that would mean that the most authoritative climate voices such as NASA, the Stockholm Environment Institute, the Potsdam Institute, Grantham and others have been wilfully holding this back. In other words what they have been telling is is indeed a giant hoax based on a collusion among scientists in every corner of the world. Sort of like what the Right has been saying, only in reverse.

That's not to say it's wrong in a general sense. The science types have been declaring this "climate emergency" in the Arctic for the past couple of years. I'm sure they're researching the hell out of it right now, running models, scads of analysis. In fact that is what the Arctic Resilience Report is all about.

The unattributed Arctic News report should probably be taken as depicting a worst, worst, worst case scenario.

worst, worst, worst case scenario

I agree the 10 degree & the 10 year timeframe is extreme ...
but whether its 10 years or 100
the die is cast

just the fact that these sci-fi scenarios are now within the the plausible realm shows how far we've fallen
