As I read Hedges' piece I immediately identified so many of those I know depicted in his remarks. Educated, relatively affluent types who simply don't want to know. Docile, compliant, obedient in a world that rewards them richly for disconnecting, disengaging and punishes those who refuse.<br /><br />Yet was I much different in my own professional days?
