Exactly. And we have been doing that for few decades now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-76215496782898990422009-10-23T12:48:08.040-07:002009-10-23T12:48:08.040-07:00I don't see an immigration problem. The stimulus would come from the money that would flow into the Canadian economy from running the training operation in this country for everything that now costs us a fortune to have trucked in along dangerous roads from Pakistan. The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-6418581829682732462009-10-23T11:34:59.327-07:002009-10-23T11:34:59.327-07:00That's one option. If we bring a regiment (or Kandak in Afghan terms) of infantry to Canada to train, how many do you think will claim refugee status? Maybe... all of them?

Not sure what sort of stimulus package you're thinking of. Afghan soldiers get paid about $100 / month. That's not a whole lot of spending money here. they'd likely save it to send back to their families.Veritasnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-22058065228374569312009-10-23T10:00:36.256-07:002009-10-23T10:00:36.256-07:00Base security? As for the general public, most of our training bases are well removed from any population centres.

If we can't distinguish friend from foe once they're here, will our odds improve over in Afghanistan?
