What makes that dubious is that the Pacific is twice as large as the Atlantic and, in any event, it's the vast southern ocean, Antarctic, that probably generates most of the oxygen and is noticeably nowhere to be found in your contention. The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-25982975617860605732013-11-18T13:16:30.162-08:002013-11-18T13:16:30.162-08:00Let's add to the oceans' problems by break...Let's add to the oceans' problems by breaking some Japanese nuclear fuel rods. The reason the Atlantic smells different than the Pacific is due to the amount of plankton in the Atlantic and also the Atlantic is colder than the Pacific.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-60466252276307382972013-11-18T12:16:56.253-08:002013-11-18T12:16:56.253-08:00Anon 12:02 what is the point of those links? Okay.

Anon 11:45 - you're the one who put it out there, not me. I really don't have time to chase down whatever you perhaps recall.

I don't know where you got the notion that the North Pacific isn't heavily laden with plankton or the far south Pacific for that matter. The reason the Pacific doesn't produce as much oxygen is because it does not have as much plankton and is warmer than the Atlantic. And no .. it isn't skewed. Look for it yourself...you have written that the oceans produce the oxygen we breath which is partly correct.. vegatation contributes as well. Something you don't know so you think it is skewed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-68904799177166044472013-11-18T11:18:39.749-08:002013-11-18T11:18:39.749-08:00Have you got a source for that 45% Atlantic/5% Pac...Have you got a source for that 45% Atlantic/5% Pacific claim? Don't get me wrong, as you have written about how important the oceans are,but when I mentioned the Atlantic Ocean produces 45 percent, the Pacific Ocean 5 percent and vegetation the rest you pooh-pooh it.
