Oceanic dead zones, algae blooms in our rivers and lakes, deforestation and desertification, nothing will arrest their pursuit of ever more from an already woefully overexploited biosphere. How can that be anything but throwing in the towel.

If we continue to refuse to live in harmony with our planet by regulating our population, by limiting our consumption and by arresting our emissions of greenhouse gases, that's consistent with but one conclusion - we've thrown in the towel.

Is it worse for Trump to admit it openly than for our leaders to conceal the same thing? The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-82808673966954566242018-10-09T09:57:38.271-07:002018-10-09T09:57:38.271-07:00I did notice that under-emphasis as well, Mound. I...I did notice that under-emphasis as well, Mound. I suspect the reason is they don't want to make the situation appear so hopeless that the world will do nothing. Already, as you previously noted in your post about the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, the Americans under Trump have essentially said they will do nothing to stop the rise in global temperatures.
Too much talk about the feedback loops might thus encourage the world to throw in the collective towel as well.Lornehttp://politicsanditsdiscontents.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
