Delegates from the denialist side have been able to cause the majority to water down their findings and projections. Overall it's hard to know whether the IPCC has been a help or a hindrance. The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-7920797139064197422018-09-15T14:37:08.120-07:002018-09-15T14:37:08.120-07:00I wonder how much the "working of the ref'...I wonder how much the "working of the ref's" by Industry, Politicians and Climate Change Deniers, had on the Science. Given what we're seeing in the disappearing ice sheets, the tundra fires and the thawing permafrost as well as the methane emitted by melting clathrates, there's plenty of corroboration for the runaway warming argument.<br /><br />Jay is right that modeling was much too conservative. This was evidenced in the reports of the IPCC that suggested certain bad things might occur by 2100 that instead happened almost 80 years earlier. The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-60426894206176479702018-09-15T12:17:29.871-07:002018-09-15T12:17:29.871-07:00"Was fracking what caused this tipping point ..."Was fracking what caused this tipping point so soon?"<br /><br />No, the predictive models used were conservative in outlook.Jay Farquharsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03335226520940843630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-74752107619795882892018-09-15T11:52:33.226-07:002018-09-15T11:52:33.226-07:00Fracking oil or gas causes huge methane release.
