Lavalin has achieved a "too big to fail" stature and knows how to throw its weight around.

The crime it may have committed is only part of the government's problem. What do fines matter in the long run? If a "too big to fail" company repeatedly resorts to criminal activity, you need to dismember the company, force it to divest itself of enough of its divisions, that, in future, it can be properly punished criminally.

Companies like Bombardier know how to hive off divisions to improve their business model. Time to do something along those same lines with SNC-Lavalin.The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-16977766928646838972019-02-12T21:02:23.540-08:002019-02-12T21:02:23.540-08:00^

It saw Arthur Porter die in a Panamanian jail after allegedly taking a $22 million kickback on the construction of McGill's new hospital in Montreal. The alleged bribe giver, SNC-Lavalin, was never charged and almost never mentioned in coverage of the story.

And once again we see much of the media carrying the company line about how it's "too big to fail" and has rooted out the few bad apples. Yet somehow it and it's affiliates remain barred from UN contracts. The Canadian plutocrats really do look after their own.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-27367799089672059112019-02-12T19:33:49.217-08:002019-02-12T19:33:49.217-08:00Howcum Mound nobody gives a flying fuck about the ...Howcum Mound nobody gives a flying fuck about the fact that Chuckles met with SNC too.

Seems to me to be a good point to blunt anything that the cons have on the libs - Scheer did it too!Ben Burdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06372169478978720740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-22984048027745327882019-02-12T18:20:51.487-08:002019-02-12T18:20:51.487-08:00tit-for-tat, what does that even mean in this cont...tit-for-tat, what does that even mean in this context? The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32931256.post-46221733864213693192019-02-12T15:59:44.437-08:002019-02-12T15:59:44.437-08:00It nothing but tit-for-tat.
