Just Don't Ask Why
According to President George Bush, the enemy in Iraq is "far from being defeated."
That's a loaded statement, as much admission as alarm.
Notice how no one ever seems to ask "why"? Okay, approaching the fourth anniversary of the US conquest of Iraq, why is the enemy far from being defeated?
Why is the Taliban resurgent in Afghanistan five years after you drove them out?
Why has Iraq fallen into civil war?
Why is the Karzai government so weak and ineffective?
Why has reconstruction in Iraq failed so miserably?
Why do most Iraqis still not have anything approaching normal electricity service?
Why have you turned the Middle East into a ticking bomb?
Why have you screwed up both wars you launched, the first justified, the other a matter of whim?
Why are you so delusional about just how bad conditions on the ground really are in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Why do you think anyone should listen to your non-ideas after an unbroken record of five years of constant failure?
Why?
