It's Time has come, and Gone?

Brace yourselves. Electronic voting machines "cannot be made secure."

That pearl of enlightenment from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, an agency that advises, among others, the US Elections Assistance Commission.

NIST recommends an 'optical scan' system in which voters actually mark paper ballots. These ballots are then run through a scanner that print a summary that voters are able to review and verify. These printed summaries are retained to be used in the event of recounts.
