We know George Bush isn't squeamish about executions. He was in a near-permanent state of writers' cramp from signing death warrants while governor of Texas. So it was a bit surprising when the White House announced today that Bush hasn't seen the controversial video of the hanging.
White House spokesman Scott Stanzel put it this way: "The president has said that he was pleased that the Iraqi people carried forward a judicial process, tried someone who has murdered hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens, and carried forward justice that was unimaginable during his reign. And that's where the president's focus was."
Asked why Bush had not seen the video, Stanzel replied: "Because that's not his focus."
