The American media are giddy at the prospect that their major domo of gross incompetence, George w. Bush, is now claiming to want to tackle global warming.
That's not what he's said. He wants to initiate talks - next year - on a global agreement to set some global targets on greenhouse gas emissions. Talks. Next year. About goals.
It never ceases to amaze me how credible American (and some world) media outlets get all gushy when this jackass makes some decidedly vague or self-contradictory pronouncement. This guy has been around nearly seven years, plenty of time to learn that, if he says something sensible, you had better run for cover.
George w. Bush is a chronic dissembler, a craven deceiver, perhaps even a pathological liar. He's not even good at it and yet he gets away with it. Time and again he has demonstrated that he has utterly no integrity and will freely say what he thinks people want to hear only to pervert his promise behind the scenes.
Hey George w. - there are talks underway and, even though you've been dodging them, there's no reason to derail that process so that you can stage "talks" sometime in the future about something in the way of global warming.
Another point, w., - if you're coming to these talks be sure to bring that silly cowboy hat of yours because these talks won't work without caps.
GWB is not interested in doing anything constructive.
ReplyDeleteFirst they deny, when that no longer works they move onto accepting it which means they will now stall action because they cannot deny the existence of global warming anymore.
Starting next year, one more year lost, and then the negotiating process which will take at least a year plus. Then no guarantee they will actually follow their own procees once again, just like they did with Kyoto which they helped initiate and then abandoned.
The world should just ignore the US because on every issue they do the same lately. Move on without them, if they are serious they can come join the rest of the world. The US has an extremely shabby record now on just about everything. Why hitch ourselves to that burning wagon?
