The Nuclear Black Market

A British company has been shut down after being found trying to sell black market, weapons-grade uranium to Iran and Sudan.

According to The Observer: "Anti-terrorist officers and MI6 are now investigating a wider British-based plot allegedly to supply Iran with material for use in a nuclear weapons programme. One person has already been charged with attempting to proliferate 'weapons of mass destruction'.

"During the 20-month investigation, which also involved MI5 and Customs and Excise, a group of Britons was tracked as they obtained weapons-grade uranium from the black market in Russia. Investigators believe it was intended for export to Sudan and on to Iran."

MI5, MI6 and other British agencies spent 20-months conducting an investigation into a group of Britons involved, who are said to have links to Islamic terrorists abroad.

The British government is expected to unveil details of the plot as damning evidence of Iranian intentions to develop nuclear weapons.

  1. Way to go....declare war and then sell weapons-grade uranium to they can declare more war. What an ingenious thing to do.

  3. Actually, I don't think Moscow is actually looking to foment war. Right now it's fossil fuel-rich in a world in major transition. I don't think war really helps much when you're in that position. No, I think today's Kremlin has moved to impose strict controls on this stuff. I think what got misappropriated happened during the Yeltsin days.
