Mulroney's Bum Boy

That would be the man Canadians can't bring themselves to trust - Little Stevie Harper. Confronted with fresh evidence of apparent skullduggery by his mentor, Brian Mulroney, Harpo is doing his damnedest to see to it that Mulroney ducks having to answer a few very obvious questions.

Harpo lamely rejected calls for an enquiry into Mulroney's dodgy dealings, saying it would be "extraordinarily dangerous" to re-open the Mulroney/Schreiber/Airbus saga. Why, says Harpman, if he did that he might have to conduct enquiries into former PMs Chretien and Martin too.

Big difference, bozo. Chretien's golf course problem was pretty thoroughly investigated. If you have credible evidence of some criminality, by all means launch an enquiry. Fact is, you don't. As for Martin's involvement with Canada Steamship Lines, you know you've got nothing but your cheesy smears.

Now, with Muldoon you have some very plain evidence - his own sworn testimony, the audio tapes of which can be enjoyed at CBC's web site. You have all the statements Mulroney and his stooges made after that. You then have Schreiber's bank account records, Mulroney's forced admission that he had received money from Schreiber after all and your Conservative Idol's late income tax filing on that money. In a nutshell, Harp, you have a prima facie case that completely justifies an enquiry.

Or - if he chooses - Mulroney can clear everything up just by answering a few simple questions, preferably under oath, and producing just a very few documents. Since Mulroney says he did nothing wrong and proving that should be a ridiculously easy matter, why not restore his reputation once and for all - just as a favour to Brian? Call it your Tory good deed of the day. Besides then you wouldn't look like Mulroney's bum boy and wouldn't that be great?

  1. Well...well...you don't want an inquiry on Chretien and Martin..men who made millions of dollars on various transactions with the government when they were in governemt...yet you want an inquiry into transaction that happened after Mulroney left office...and what do you base this on...a fugitive that will do anything to stay in Canada so that he can avoid spending the rest of his life in prison.
You folks on Liblogs are one angry buch of lefties. Simply because your Liberal friends GOT CAUGHT inappropriately wasting millions of taxpayer dollars for for their own benefit does not mean that all political parties are corrupt. It is only the party that you support...and no amount of false mudslinging will change that. The RCMP and the Liberal party have already wasted two million dollars on this false vendetta...now what would be really interesting would be an inquiry into the Chretien and Martin transactions....I bet this tends to scare you lefties a little...errr....I mean a lot.

  2. Doesn't scare me in the slightest, whoever you are. Come up with any genuine evidence that either Martin or Chretien did anything wrong and go for it. As for Mulroney, why don't you take a deep breath, go to the Fifth Estate web site and listen to the audio of your guy's SWORN testimony. Sworn - as in perjury if false - testimony. Then reconcile what he said under oath with what he admitted later when Schreiber's bank records came out. Then factor in the cash slipped across tables with Mulroney's subsequent tax epiphany. All that's needed are a few answers to some obvious questions, explanations of some blatant inconsistencies. This isn't false mudslinging, no matter how much you and yours want to squirm out of it. You clowns are so sanctimonious - until that gets inconvenient.
