One of the best Canadian e-zines is Metaball.
In the March, 2008 edition, Metaball editor RK Finch presents a brilliant psychological dissection of Stephen Harper entitled "The Singular Face of Megalomania." This is a "must read" for those of us who can't quite put our finger on what truly lurks inside our Furious Leader:

Really interesting, MoS.
ReplyDeleteI also went to Richview, when Harper was there, but I was ahead of him so I didn't notice him. (I was one of the cool kids, lol.)
My sister however was in the same year and cannot for the life of her remember anything about him. She in fact was the one to expose his year book photo to CTV, I think, in 2004.
I have to say I'm not sold on the religious aspect here. I would think there would be more evidence of that, were it true.
The mindset however does fit. I've often wondered why, in any bio, he is never quoted as speaking about his formative years.
The author has it wrong though when he says that Richview is in Ignatieff's riding. It's actually Borys Wrzesnewskyj's riding.
Minor error, and while I think the thrust of the article is applicable, I'd watch for fact checking, specifically the religious stuff.
Hmmm, it makes me want to grab my sister's year book and call up his entire class.
Interesting article, shorter - Pouting chip-on-his-shoulder adolescent - sounds about right. The thing is, he never grew up and at this age, probably never will.
ReplyDeleteSomething about the personality description reminds me of school shooters.
Sassy, are you really R K Finch?
ReplyDeleteI like Stephan Harper and so do alot of other people. He is one of the best PM's yet.
