Alaska's Main Newspaper Endorses Obama

The Anchorage Daily News has endorsed Barack Obama for president. Coming from a solid "red" state that's something. Coming from a red state which the Republican vice presidential candidate calls home and sits as governor, that's something again. From the Associated Press:

The Daily News said since the economic crisis has emerged, Republican presidential candidate John McCain has "stumbled and fumbled badly" in dealing with it.

"Of the two candidates, Sen. Obama better understands the mortgage meltdown's root causes and has the judgment and intelligence to shape a solution, as well as the leadership to rally the country behind it," the paper said.

The Daily News said Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has shown the country why she is a success as governor. But the paper said few would argue that Palin is truly ready to step into the job of being president despite her passion, charisma and strong work ethic.

  1. Good grief. Just when old man McCain thought things couldn't get much worse...

  4. With OBAMA on an obvious "landslide" collision course with the White House.... is anyone out there even a bit concerned even a bit that the man might not be "constitutionally qualified" to be the U.S. President?

As a Canadian... I couldn't care less, but U.S. Lawyer, Philip J. Berg is appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court with his legal argument that Obama is "NOT" qualified to serve as President.

Alaska's newspaper and papers like it will certainly help pave the way to Obama's victory. But what happens after that? In a "scandal aftermath" that will potentially rival the controversy of W. Bush's first election victory, Obama has:

    - Immigration issues...

    - Citizenship issues...

    - Faulty birth certificate posted online by Obama's people to assuage the barking dogs...

    - ...and he has failed to provide all "legally requested" information to the concerned parties in order to "clear" himself of all doubts.

Why is the media ignoring this? (The Supreme courts certainly isn't)! How can the newspapers be this irresponsible?

Frankly... I'm amazed that more people aren't talking about Obama's shady "citizenship" status... (including McCain himself, who obviously needs all the help he can get as far as winning the election goes and could use this to his advantage).

When Alaska's biggest newspaper overlooks this glaring, "scandal in waiting"... and backs OBAMA in the election... you can hardly blame them. They might be Alaska's "biggest" paper, but that might not be saying much!

The mainstream media across the U.S. and the rest of the world however, seem to be "overlooking" it too.

We really are prisoners to the media... and what they choose to report to us. This paper in Alaska (as well as all other "respectable" newspapers across the land) should be ashamed of themselves. I am no supporter of McCain or Palin but selecting the lesser of evils in a presidential election shouldn't be the answer either.

  5. Anon, you're the reason there is so much anti-Obama bullshit being spread on the internet. It's out there because there are people who will swallow it. Do you take some perverse pride in being so gullible, so ill-informed, so easily misled?
