I understand that Lib4ver, whoever he was, has decided to pack up and head into the welcoming arms of the far right. I would have preferred the administration of Liblogs to have weighed his conduct and considered the appropriateness of his membership in this group but there was no way I could force that and they appeared indifferent to the issue at best.
Now I also understand that some, such as Yappa, have criticized my decision not to have anything to do with Liblogs so long as that blogger was posting here. I wasn't, as she so ridiculously claimed, trying to bully that character. I didn't place any pressure on him at all so her contention is really pathetic. What I did was to decide that I didn't want to be part of an organization that would accept the sort of comments he condoned about a fellow blogger - comments that were blatantly over the line. I find it unfortunate my critic found that defensible but that speaks to her, not me.
I'm still unsure whether I will return to Liblogs. I found this incident and the way it was handled really unpleasant. In any case, I'm not nearly as invested in the LPC as most Libloggers although, for me, the Liberal Party has always been the default option at the ballot box.
I'm going to ponder the situation for a few more days. I may set up a new blog and post to Progressive Bloggers in the meantime.
He's not on the Liblogs blogroll anymore so even if he shutdown his blog he'd still be on the list until someone at Liblogs removed it. At least I think that's how it works.
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong but I have clicked on a blog here & there in the list that was no longer in existence.
Penlan, you're right, he appears to be gone.
ReplyDeleteAnd someone had to have taken him off, or else Red and MoS would have been gone long ago.
I don't know what has happened or if it still continues and where it can be found but MOS, don't stop writing. Cheers, A. Morris
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you were even a Liberal supporter based on your writing. I suppose I imagined you were just a non-partisan who leaned somewhat left of centre.
ReplyDeleteWhat, the Liblogs logo and the Victory Fund logo didn't give it away Raphael? :)
ReplyDeleteIronically. MOS doesnt even have a Prog Blog button on here that I can see.. tho he's been a long time member.
Raphael, a Liberal is a centrist. That's the whole gig, always has been, but yes, you're right, I am a bit left of centre which means I'm something of a left Liberal.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me when I have been sorely tempted not to vote Liberal, I was never tempted to vote Conservative.
lib4evr has changed the name of his blog to:
ReplyDeleteCentrist views
He has posted another "poor me" post & still doesn't get what it's all about. Still thinks & moans that it's because of his views on the U.S. election.
But he is no longer a Liblogs member & he had to have been removed by Jason or someone else - even though he says he's given up blogging. He hasn't. As I said, just changed the name of his blog which has all of his postings & all the comments still on it.
Just so you all know. ;)
