America's Climate Change Kiln

America's farmers and their representatives are rallying to fiercely oppose the climate and energy bill now before Congress. McClatchey Newspapers reports that farmers fear the legislation will undermine their bottom line by raising prices on electricity, gasoline and natural-gas based fertilizers.

It's no small irony that the states that stand to be most severely impacted by global warming include most of America's key agricultural zones. The news service published this graphic of the changes to come - with or without major emissions cuts - and it's not good news for the south and midwest.

  1. Hi, M of S. It's strange that farmers who depend on the weather for their livelihood aren't more motivated to fight global warming, but I guess like most others they are preoccupied with short term economic gain. Seems like the biggest push for success at Copenhagen is coming from young people, maybe because they have more invested in the future.

  2. When I read this it made me think of commercial fishermen. Even as they bring fish stocks to the point of extinction some still bridle at the suggestion of closures.

  3. Leftist morons - stop repeating what your commissars tell you to and educate yourselves. "Anthropogenic Global Warming" is a pseudo-scientific scam without empirical evidence to support it. It is based on flawed computer models and doctored "evidence". It has been thoroughly discredited. You'll have to use some other ploy to establish socialist world government.

  4. Anon, try to grow up. The affluent nations are represented by an organization called the OECD. Each OECD nation maintains a national academy of science. Now, how many of those national academies of science express any doubt about the reality of anthropogenic global warming? How many of them agree with any statement you have made? I guess that would be zero on both questions, which pretty much makes you a zero too. How many of those nations have environment departments or ministries. They all do. And how many of them agree with you. Again, zero.

So, Zero, er Anon, what you want of me is that I reject the powerful consensus of the world's earth scientists - climatologists, geologists, hydrologists, oceanographers, biologists, botanists, zoologists, chemists, meteorologists, physicists, atmospheric scientists, epidemiologists, the lot - and substitute instead the idiocy of a zero who calls himself Anonymous. Really? Are you really that fucking delusional?
