"I got into the habit of paying for boys
All these rituals of the market for youths, the slave market,
all that excited me enormously
The abundance of very attractive and immediately available young boys
put me in a state of desire"
- French culture minister, Frederic Mitterrand
And, having written that in his tell-all memoir, minister Mitterrand can't understand why critics are demanding his resignation or why they're indignant over his defence of Roman Polanski.
The 62-year old Mitterrand admitted in his autobiography to paying for boy sex in Thailand - a lot. But his attitude seems to be "that was then, this is now." Let bygones be bygones.
It's unimagineable how a guy who has openly admitted this monstrous abuse could have been allowed into Sarkozy's cabinet in the first place.
Que sera, sera?
Despicable!
ReplyDeleteMost Caucasian and Western men who go to Thailand in particular, are going there for one reason...boys and very young girls...as young as nine and ten!! Yes...it's sickning. More and more, it looks like many, many men are child molesters wanting first dibs. A. Morris
ReplyDeleteI forgot to ask that if Frederic Mitterrand is related to Bishop Raymond Lahey of Nova Scotia?
ReplyDeleteHistory, I suppose, is replete with cultures that have accepted this sort of thing. That said, A.M., I hope that "many, many men" are not child molesters and that, in fact, it's a tiny minority... like our Afghan police and army allies.
ReplyDeleteLeDaro..Raymond Lahey although elevated to Bishop in Nova Scotia, is from Newfoundland born and raised and where he did most of his dirty work. One of the countries he often travelled to was Thailand and other poor Asian countries, Spain and Germany. These countries are hubs for child porn and molestation. MOS you ought to take a trip to Thailand and observe just how many cauasion men don't even care that they are seen by other Westerners walking down the street holding hands with young children. As one American said to me in the lobby of the International Bumrengrad Hospital, the families allow it. I asked him how old his daughter was. She was twelve at the time. I asked him if it would be okay for an ugly, fat, bald old man to walk down the street holding his daughters hand. He walked away. It does not make it right even if families allow it. They only allow it because they are so very, very poor. Most Canadians have no idea just how many Canadians go to Thailand just to have sex with young children. Men who do this have learned to do so. It has nothing to do with their makeup or being programed to think about sex every five minutes. It has to do with how brazen they are. A. Morris
ReplyDeleteWell A.M., I'm sure you're right. It just seems so sad.
ReplyDeleteYes...MOS it is very sad. Especially for those of us who have given birth. It is beginning to sound as if women who give birth need to protect their children from men relatives, husbands and men in general....now that is really sad. It's not to far removed from certain animals where the males have to be warded off for fear of killing their own off-spring. A. Morris
