Two German women walk into a bar. No, wait, make that an airport. Make that Liverpool's John Lennon International Airport.
Not quite. Two German women walk into Liverpool's John Lennon International with a man. A man in a wheelchair. A man wearing sunglasses in a wheelchair. They go up to the check in counter with the man wearing sunglasses in a wheelchair to hop a quick flight to Berlin.
The check-in crew have a problem. The guy - the one with the sunglasses sitting in the wheelchair - isn't breathing. Turns out Herr Snuffie had died the previous day and the two German fraus, both relatives, were simply trying to get him a cheap flight home.
Full points for trying. They did, in fact, manage to get the guy by taxi the 39-miles from Oldham to Liverpool airport. BBC News reports the two have been charged with failing to give notification of a death.

And why should it cost more to fly a corpse than a living, breathing, body? :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree entirely SB. Some of the nicest people I've ever met were dead.
ReplyDeleteThe real reason is that airlines are leery of carry on luggage these days. Or may be the guy in the glasses had ties with Al Queda.
ReplyDeleteHey did you notice those whores, the CBC, stole my whole "Weekend at Bernie's" shtick. Less than 12-hours of this post it was on THEIR web site. And they get sanctimonious about bloggers?
