It's Those Little Things That Say So Much

Yesterday the world watched as anti-Mubarak protesters clashed with what some benignly called pro-Mubarak protesters.   That seemed to be intended to imbue the pro-Mubarak thugs with a certain moral equivalency.   It was simply a difference of opinion.

This morning an Al Jazeera reporter claimed the pro-Mubarak thugs were likely hired goons from the Cairo slums.   She said that was easy enough.   Give them twenty bucks, a week's wages, and a bus ride to the square.   Basically she was making a claim we've heard before.

But.

But she had one little observation that reinforced her point.   She noted that the pro-Mubarak mob cleared out, en masse, at day's end.   They punched their time cards and went home, their day's work done.

Pretty good point.
