A
Gallup poll has found that 46% of Americans believe that the world was created by their god less than 10,000 years ago. That's 1 point above the statistical average for the past thirty years. Factor in those who believe their god has guided evolution, 32%, and god emerges as the solid winner. Only 15% believe evolution occured all on its own. Among Republicans, 58% believe in hard core creationism.
Which possibly explains why these
Texans are delighted that Jesus created a portrait of himself in mold in their shower stall.

What it should be:
"Which possibly explains why these Texans are delighted that Jesus created a portrait of himself in mould in their shower stall."
It looks more like Frank Zappa.
ReplyDeleteHi Troy. I was thinking of you this morning when I read in the Victoria Times-Colonist that Enbridge is claiming 60% First Nations support for Northern Gateway. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI don't know what polling they've done to support this number, but it's highly unlikely.
ReplyDeleteThe last I've heard was the opposition to the pipelines by First Nations in the province numbers in the tens of thousands, which was the attendance to a recent gathering in Vancouver. The purpose of that gathering was to solicit monies and support for the opposition, as well as to build a network of contacts.
My source told me the gathering raised over $100,000 in one day, so there's room to be optimistic.
However, with recent alarming developments by the federal government in building a pipeline police force, I still predict this will turn into an armed conflict, ala Oka or Pine Ridge.
