Mitt Romney is outraged that anyone would dare criticize the fairness of his across-the-board 20% tax cut proposal. The criticism is that this would benefit very, very rich people a very, very great deal and poor or middle class Americans far less. In fact the proposal was found to cause a net income penalty for most Americans.
The report by the centrist Tax Policy Center found that Romney's tax cuts would boost after-tax income by an average of 4.1 percent for those earning more than $1 million a year, while reducing by an average of 1.2 percent the after-tax income of individuals earning less than $200,000.
Oh Mitt, oh dear. Meanwhile Robert Reich delivers a powerful look at what is really at stake in America's 2012 elections.
Great video. If we substitute Canada for America, we could use it when harper's time comes.
ReplyDeleteActually, the best result might be a Romney presidency with a Democratic house and/or senate majority.
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans would try to pass lots of horrible legislation, but the Democrats would have to demonize it and stop them, at least some of the time, in order to look like some kind of opposition and not give them a successful legislative track record.
Whereas if Obama wins, he'll just keep on pretending to not want to do evil Republican things and then doing them anyway.
Yes...take North Americans back to Medieval times...it will be good for us where religion can be forced down our throats and if you don't believe, we'll cut off your heads. Where the politicans will be able to force women to wear chasity belts again; where certain people are considered to be worthless: where dictatorship prevails...oh! oh!..that's pretty much what is going one now only money is used as the weapon. Wow we are moving forward to meet the 21 century with excuberance...that is if CO2 doesn't get us first.
ReplyDeleteDon't bother, Anyong. People like Purple Library Guy would enjoy having the world burn if it means they can indulge their resentment at Obama for not giving them a pony / using his magic wand.
