If the polls are right and Justin Trudeau's Liberals manage to reclaim power from the Harper Cons in 2015 all signs are that Canada will continue to be governed on the principle of cynical opportunism.
The spinelessness of the Liberals in joining Harper on the undemocratic terrorism amendments and the FIPPA trade sellout to China suggests the Liberals will continue on the disastrous (for Canada) path charted by Ignatieff.
My suspicions that Justin is more Margaret than Pierre are confirmed.
More Margaret that Pierre? What does that mean?
ReplyDeleteHave you spent much time reading his father's writings, his Cite Libre stuff?
ReplyDeletePET had a powerful intellect that guided his leadership in office. That was forged in the adventurism of his youth and his early forays into radicalism.
Of the three sons, Michel always seemed to most closely embody the character of their father. The radical element was carried on by the second son, Alexandre 'Sasha', who I understood had veered toward Communism at one point but proved to be an excellent and very brave film maker.
You don't see the strength of character that brought Canada the Charter of Rights and Freedoms embodied in a leader who would support undemocratic terrorism laws and FIPA.
Not only that his apparent flip flopping on the pipeline issue here in BC.
ReplyDeleteThen again when the Liberals picked the prince to be king Trudeau over Joyce Murray I knew which path they wanted to head down. The name of the game is short term gain.
I really hope the next Provincial Government here in BC is strong and shows its muscle with regards to Provincial rights. We need to firewall this province.
Don't forget that Joyce Murray was Minister in Charge of environmental raping in the far from liberal government of re-cycled SoCruds, Reformers and Manning Institute types calling themselves BC LIEberals under Capo Gordo Scambull!
ReplyDeleteGarneau may have been their best hope, having seen the "whole earth" from space. But then the HarpCons would have just said "he didn't come back to earth for you."
Justin Trudeau will not cut it now nor in the future.
