New Contest - Your Favourite Tory in Marjorie's Wig

Any guesses what former Conservative senate leader Marjorie Lebreton plans to do with her 30s-something hairpiece when she leaves politics?  Maybe it should be bequeathed to the public archives.  Or maybe it should be institutionalized and handed down as a badge of office to be worn by future Conservative senate leaders.

Hmm.  I wonder what Duffy would look like sporting Lebreton's wig.  Or Nigel Wright, or Steve Harper.  I know, it would look every bit as age appropriate on Joe Oliver, no?

So, here's the challenge.  Grab a few Marj photos online and photoshop her wig onto you favourite Tory or Tories.  I'd do it but I don't have a clue about that stuff.

Let's call it The Great Marjathon.   Take your best shot and post it on your blog for all to admire.  Or add a link in the comments and I'll post it below.

  3. Aging women sometimes experience thinning hair. While Ms. Lebreton is a poor excuse for any kind of leadership, I find it rather depressing that so-called progressives go around making fun of people's appearance. It has all the merit of having an animated puffin poop on the photo of a candidate. There are mountains of material to skewer and satirize cons about, but an old lady's wig?

  4. I sometimes confuse Ms. LeBreton for Roger from American Dad.

  6. This blog is really an exercise in aggrogance. This is an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions. This is not the behaviour of progressives...

Explaining and expanding on your own beliefs is one thing, trying to convince others that other thoughts are wrong is a totally different matter.

  7. Sorry, ladies, but Marj's wig is about as hilarious as her showing up in a miniskirt and a tank top. There's something so Harvey Cormanish to it. Some show us how to grow old gracefully. Others go the Cher routine.

  8. Final word. Duffy gets lampooned over his appearance constantly. We mock Harper for his helmet hair. If any old geezer from the senate chose to don a rent boy wig we'd be all over him. But because it's an "old lady's wig" (your words, not mine) it's off limits? Bugger that and, if need be, bugger you too.

  9. I respectfully disagree anon 4:13, Mound is articulate and spot on with every single post, nothing arrogant about speaking the truth. We're witnessing the harvesting of years of reform madness on the national stage courtesy of a lazy and brain washed electorate. Each and every one of those cretins deserve to have their "leadership" criticized and that my friend is what progressives need to do often, loudly and clearly.

  10. bcwaterboy: No...there isn't anything wrong with speaking the truth. MOS however, is not open to difference of opinion or rather, a fine criticism or opposition to something he may say. To be mocked either female or male, is to poke fun at someone with words or actions intended to evoke contemptuous laughter at or feelings toward a person like a 10 year old. Its very close to a taunt by calling attention to something that may be embarrassing to a person. "Each and every one of those cretins deserve to have their "leadership" criticized and that my friend is what progressives need to do often, loudly and clearly." That is true but he likes to ridicule appearance and has frequently done so. That is the issue, personnel appearence nothing else. He has also assumed it is only women who have responded to his comment. To defend himself at 8:17 PM in that manner and for you to come to his defence by not addressing the point made, again, "personnel appearance" says there is a lack of understanding of the objective criticism put forward. In addition, he is a good looking dude. You may already know that.

  11. This post and its comments is a "picture perfect" illustration of the canard that Politics is Hollywood for unattractive people.

Also, when it comes to aging, Cher has managed to do it much more gracefully than Marg.

  12. Then again, Koot, Cher has also had an awful lot of work. I met the guy who did her face work for many years. He had a partner in California who did the body work.

As for Marj, first of all she's a public figure and, second, if she wants to be the Parliamentary equivalent of Phil Spector, she's fair game.

  13. Naw, naw, naw! Not going to get anywhere with this. It's a dead duck. A hopeless case.
