Mound, is it possible that, despite all the saber- rattling, Obama is hesitant to attack Syria? Putin is threatening that it may not be good idea to attack Syria. If Russia and Iran get involved then Obama has a lot more on his plate. It could become a much bigger war than Syria alone.
Obama has passed it on to Congress to haggle and he himself has taken off for Europe to attend G-20 meeting.
I have no doubt that Obama has cold feet, L.D. "It could become a much bigger war than Syria alone." It already is, L.D. Russia, Iran and Israel are already players. The U.S. is providing funding, weapons, intelligence and training. This is evolving into a classic proxy war from the Cold War era.
Some have already proclaimed the advent of Cold War II only instead of being centred on East and Western Europe, it is being waged on an axis from Southeast Asia straight through to the Mediterranean. Africa, even a small part of South America, are in play.
“I didn’t set a red line,” Mr. Obama said during a news conference here in Stockholm. “The world set a red line.”
He added, “My credibility’s not on the line. The international community’s credibility is on the line. And America and Congress’s credibility is on the line.”
