Nothing To See Here. Move Along.

A former parliamentary law clerk can't see what possible benefit flowed from Nigel Wright's $90,000 under the table payment to senator Mike Duffy and, accordingly, based on what he can't see, concludes there was no crime.

Rob Walsh, who was Parliament's top legal adviser until 2012, says in theory, a criminal offence would occur if money was given to a senator in exchange for some kind of benefit.

But in case of the Duffy cheque, Walsh can't see what benefit Wright would have received for repaying Duffy's expenses.

No charges have been laid against either Duffy or Wright, but the RCMP is investigating the circumstances that led to Wright writing a personal cheque after Duffy told him he didn't have the money himself.

Sorry, Rob, although it was good of you to admit you can't tell what the payment was for, what you don't understand doesn't much matter.  There was obviously a pretty big political benefit attached to the payment.  Duffy was put under conditions to stop talking and to refuse to cooperate with the auditors.   Some one must have seen a real benefit from that and that some one would be the person on whose behalf Nigel coughed up the 90-large.

  1. Exactly.
Wright got the benefit that he negotiated, Duffy's obedience and refusal to cooperate. Whether Rob Walsh thinks that is worth $90,000 or not is immaterial. Wright wanted it on behalf of Stephen Harper, and he got it. Plus, the payment wasn't just $90,000. It was $90,000 plus some vote rigging and document tampering in committee. Aren't those things crimes on their face?

  2. .. the impression that's constantly floated by alleged mainstream media reporting from the alleged front steps of our law courts is that our allegedly elected politicians are the kindest warmest most loving human beings .. (Manchurian Candidates) regardless of what they allegedly do or say.. or hide.. whether proved in a court of law, hinted at, or perpetrated with parliamentary immunity .. or defended via 500 an hour retained political ambulance chasers

.. thus the the alleged pig is lipsticked .. the related turd polished .. and fed to the general population.. who see their whipped MP's eating it up.. so it must be good .. right ?

.. how many hours has Arthur Hamilton billed Canada this year ? In previous years ? Is he in fact part of the PMO ? Or our government? One might thinks so, as we hear his name so often. His caseload or defense ministry & litigation portfolio has been brutal thanks to Stephen Harper's odd sense of transparency accountability vindictiveness and anger about First Nation peoples and treaties.

Military veterans benefits unrelated to the royal war of 1812 are a favorite litigation for Stevie's pet lawyer and that we somehow have oceans, elections, rivers, seniors, creatures, pensions, habitat, Charter of Rights, experimental lakes, coastal rescue boats, liberal senators, wetlands, orca, wild salmon, gay married folks, Afghanistan, scientists and polar bears is a grievous thorn in his Royal Harper side.. But at least he has China.

Surely the Duffy affair.. will add a couple of billable hours to the Arthur Hamilton economic actions fund.. fending off Michael Sona and the 247 defrauded electoral ridings may throw a bone his way as well .. and who knows.. maybe Stevie will have to go after Nigel Wright.. to save his own ass .. Better hope Nigel doesn't call Arthur first..
Or Pammy Wallin .. (Can you spell Arthur 'recuses himself')

Money talks .. bullshit walks ..
And Nigel Wright is MONEY ....
    which leaves Stevie where ??

This is no longer about the Senate ..
This is all about corrupt government
Nothing in writing mind you .. !
An oversight by a junior intern now working in China

Too big to go to jail ? A Prime Minister ?
    I think not ........
