Why, They've Got a Nerve

Fast food outlets flog a lot of chicken nuggets.  Kids, it seems, love them.  Hey, it is chicken, right?  Maybe not.   Researchers have found what's sold as chicken may be as little as 40% chicken meat, the rest made up of a bunch of stuff you didn't bargain for - nerve tissue, blood, fat, cartilage, maybe even a bit of bone.

The testers didn't name names but they probably didn't have to.   Watch for fast food outlets to soon start telling you they have "all chicken" nuggets.

  1. If it's "nerve tissue, blood, fat, cartilage, maybe even a bit of bone" from a chicken, then technically, it can still be called " 'all chicken' nuggets."

    If you want to avoid lips, assholes, nerve tissue, blood, fat, cartilage, and bone, I would advise avoiding any processed meat.

  2. I agree with that, CuJo. I didn't like it when they put that stuff in dog food. Now they're feeding it to us. Solyent Green anyone?

  3. Although I haven't eaten at the clownish fast food company since 1975, the company my wife works for did the lab work on this very issue and found nothing but white breast meat, as advertised.

    That being said, I still don't eat there.

  4. I'm sure she's bound by confidentiality not to disclose the identity of the firm that actually used real chicken. Too bad.
