You gotta give it to Shep Smith.

  1. Stupid? I hope you're not saying that he's stupid.

  2. It is surprising (in a good way) to see this on Fox.

BTY - I just came across this graphic that compares Eloba with other infectious diseases. Like the man said, "get your flu shot".

  3. Actually, Sassy, according to what I'm told by my daughter, recently returned after years of study in the US, there's an issue between FOX and Shep Smith. He wants out, they intend to hold him to his contract. I think he's showing the world what the 'creative control' clause in his contract can mean to a propaganda agency like FOX.

The Republicans, aided expressly by FOX, are stoking ebola fears and blaming the Obama Democrats for leaving America in the grip of lethal epidemic. Shepherd is turning on the home team, calling them out as liars using ebola to manipulate the American public.

That must've gone down very well with Roger Ailes and the FOX board.

  5. That was just about the best news report out of the US in a very long time and on Fox no less. That he had the guts to call irrational fear out for the political tool that it is, heck, he deserves recognition for journalist of the year. The big bosses must be fuming though as they know full well the people watching the program are the ones they want to be afraid.

  6. There isn't one thing wrong with keeping an attitude of caution regarding Ebola...it is called having a healthy attitude. However, paranoia at this stage is blown out of all reason in the US and Canada and with good reason at this point. When the medical profession has to use ill fitting protective clothing when taking care of Ebola patients, there is something wrong thus raising concerns by the public.
Shep Smith spoke as if his listening audience were all 10 years old. But having read your reply to Sassy Mound, I now know why his rant one sided rant.

  7. Anyong, Smith was speaking to a Fox News audience. They collectively have the mental capacity of less than a ten year old, so he wasn't wrong in his delivery.
