I hope Michael Sona gets a frail, elderly cellmate. He's not the sort who would do well sharing with some guy named "Bubba."
Off to the Greybar Hotel for Michael Sona. The little bugger scored himself
nine months plus a year of probation for his "blatant disregard of the right of people to vote."
Mound, what kind of "deal" have the CPC provided for this kid so that he would take the fall and not give up any higher ups? I'm amazed he didn't cut some deal with Elections Canada. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteI recall Sona at one point proclaiming he wouldn't go down alone on this. He threatened to take others with him should he get slammed up. Sona made clear he didn't act alone, something the trial judge concluded as well.
ReplyDeleteI'd expect it wouldn't take much of a deal to get Sona to lay down and take one for the team. Harper wants this to end TODAY.
And the saddest thing is that for much of the electorate, it will be case closed, only one rogue staffer to be blamed. Teflon Stephen prevails.
ReplyDeleteI expect that's right, Lorne. Business as usual and another win for the damage control cadre.
ReplyDeleteI imagine he is done with politics. I expect he will head to Calgary and make his fortune in oil.
ReplyDeleteHarper could also give Sona a cushy overseas job, as he did for Gordon Campbell. I believe Nigel Wright is also in the UK. The degenerates Harper no longer wants, are thrown under his bus.
ReplyDeleteHarper cheated to win and has no right to even live in this country, let alone govern.
Harper stonewalled and blocked the investigation against his robo-call cheat. Harper's boy Cote of EC said? He had no jurisdiction to chase down, the robo-calls that came out of the US.
Sona doesn't have the background for any cushy job that you could imagine. He's a 5-watt bulb which might account for how he came to be left holding the bag on this one. Then again he's shown all the attributes to be a fine Harper PMO Chief of Staff.
ReplyDeleteSona is a typical Harper Con. He got caught.
ReplyDeleteHe was NOT alone!
I think Sona is another evangelical Con which is why he was able to be recruited by the Harper Gang.
ReplyDeleteThe story says that a member of his church in Guelph has got him in an apprenticeship there. Sounds like someone has bought him a job opportunity until his sheet can get cleansed.
Sona .. the lone wolf evangelical operator
ReplyDeletea 5 watt bulb.. so apropos.. ! !
an electoral terrorista armed with..
a modem, his god, his PM and a burner phone

or a useful and deniable fragment thereof ..
A beautiful DonkeyOaty example of the Knights Harper assembled for The Harper Rapture
The Alberta Homeboy Cometh .. All Hail .. sheesh ...
It should have been pretty boy Calandra
or a millionaire thugtwit like Joe Ethical Oliver

Anyways.. we gots our token sacrificial idjut Sona

We stand with what Harper sez we stand for..
while hiding in closets, whatever....
snowing or showing us.. the Right Stuff
There's no question he didn't act alone, Ray. Even the trial judge had that figured out early in the proceedings.
ReplyDelete@ Luly - I wonder what happened to the job Sona had before he got bailed out by his congregation?
@ Sal - I would love to know who buried the CIMS data base evidence.
So this makes three elections in a row where the CPC has had direct connection to guilty convictions dealing with election fraud of one sort or another, the in and out of 2006, DDM in 2008, and now Sona in 2011. I do believe that the old expression about once being accident, twice being coincidence, third time enemy action clearly applies here. There is clearly a culture of corruption about the sanctity of election process within the Harper CPC from the top down, and the record clearly shows it in the amount of convictions against a less than decade old party with more guilty convictions for such than I believe all other parties in their entire history.
