Let's Cut the Crap. They're Called the "Slave States" For a Very Good Reason

It's disgusting the lengths to which so many southerners, rightwing hardliners and their Dixie-lovin' Reb Flag wavin' cohorts around the US will go to deny that the Civil War and that goddamned rag they so love to wave were all about slavery.

They're wrong. Dead wrong.

    Yes the Civil War was about slavery. Those Confederate flags are about slavery. I have no doubt that a majority of Southerners, and a great many Northerners, would bring back segregation in a heartbeat and slavery in the next.

    The hard right conservatives used the end of segregation and abortion to take over the Republican Party. Those are sores that will fester until the US comes apart like Yugoslavia. In the mean time, the 1% will rake in their $$$$$$ and everyone else will pay the freight.
