My favourite self-proclaimed Liberal posted a photo under the title, "Old snapshot of unknown religious refugee family, hiding in a barn, after being denied a home by a politician."
I tried to leave a comment asking if this meant he'd finally heard of the Palestinians. Naturally, it was blocked - no response. I guess he didn't see the parallels. Guess we'll never know.
Come to think of it, weren't both persecuted by the then governing Israeli authority? Didn't Herod order that baby put to death?
The way the story was recounted to me, the family was forced to seek alternate accomodations because the Bethlehem Holiday Inn was fully booked. This points to poor corporate planning rather than anything political. And the fact that the inn was full at the time shouldn't be surprising. It was, after all, during the Christmas holiday season.
ReplyDeleteAnon, I believe your account is correct. It was only after Herod met with the Wise Men and got the skinny about this newborn King of the Jews, that he decided that all little male Hebrews should be put to the sword.
ReplyDeleteThat's what you get from relying on - well, you know.
They had to return to theirplace of birth for a census. Not sure if it was short form or long form but certainly it was mandatory. Very futuristic head gear though
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed, Willy. Great for reading your Kindle in the stables late at night.

ReplyDeleteseems to me certain unnamed websites might be more of a PR spin machine that can cycle thru bs and then whitewash it:P
That's not it, Deb. He just has a pre-approval on comments that some bloggers use. My infrequent comment is routinely discarded.
ReplyDeleteyeah MOS, mine have been discarded too, and I was blocked, lol for making antiharper statements amidst some of the voracious con trolls that hang there. I get that, I gave up bothering to post. I was more saying he isnt interested in fairplay, as its just an extension of his office work( or I presume book material:P)
