Has Your Internet Privacy Been Breached? Find Out Here, Fast and Free.

There it was. I had been a victim of two internet breaches, sites that had been hacked and user data stolen. Data that has been compromised - passwords, email addresses, user names. The hacked sites that spilled my data - Adobe and Forbes.

  1. One 2013 Adobe breach on one email account that I rarely use anymore and none on the one I use most.

  2. What a terrific way to get a collection of email addresses! Now I can't attest to the motives of your link, Mound, but if your spam filter goes into overdrive you'll know why.

Sorry, Mound, I wasn't referring to your motives; I meant that test link you posted. Very few Web sites operate entirely for free. What computers do best is make lists. The most common money making schemes use data mining, thus the email lists are a data miner's dream. Even if the owner of that site is completely altruistic there are bots monitoring everything.

Mound, while you run your blog for free, Google doesn't. Everything we post here is mined. In spite of my fake name the data mining bots will compile an impressive amount of data about me including my IP addresses.

To get an idea of what I'm on about, track a lawyer, professor named Eben Moglen. He shows up in many places. Here's one.
