Another solo pedibus in a shoe has washed up, this time at Port Renfrew's beautiful Botanical Beach.
Between August 2007 and November 2011, nine feet belonging to seven people were discovered along the B.C. coast.
One foot was linked to a man who had gone missing 25 years earlier when his boat overturned near Port Moody.
Okay, there's the set up. You write the punch line.
Making a joke out of this seems a bit callus.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Hugh. You're firmly in first at this point.
ReplyDeleteIt does make me wonder if there's a place on some distant shore that is a repository for arms or heads or other body parts?
As I understand it, some sneakers float. When bodies decompose or get eaten by fish the feet eventually separate and float up still in their footwear. I don't recall any evidence of mechanical amputation. If I'm right, we are seeing a natural process and the owners of the feet went overboard and sank, something that has happened on the BC coast for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteThe real puzzle, as always with found remains, is who.
Yes, yes, Toby. You've let me down. I hope you realize that. We're looking for a bit of levity here, gallows humour if you like. Where's your punchline?
ReplyDeleteApparently they had one foot in the grave, now we know where the other one went.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Robert. Your entry is duly noted.
Who knew, or Hugh knew. One foot in the grave, one foot in the mouth. Just how many feet are there?
ReplyDeleteNot bad, John. Not bad.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they are all from attendees at the annual Long John Silver Pirate Convention.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole.
