Of course it has. Which is why NASA prepared this wonderful graph of just how atmospheric CO2 has changed over the past 400,000 years.
Res ipsa loquitur - the thing does indeed speak for itself. For those who say this is something other than man-made, well this chart puts that argument right where it belongs.
The crowd that doesn't believe in facts won't have any trouble avoiding this. Add to them those who live in a fantasy of optimism that we will find a fix. That does not leave many who truly understand the scope of the problem.

ReplyDeleteI tend to agree with your overall outlook, Toby. For some time now I've argued that we have little hope of addressing climate change unless we also tackle two companion threats - overpopulation and over-consumption. Just on consumption alone, we're using renewable resources at 1.7 times their replenishment rate. That's 1.7 times our planet's carrying capacity and we're bleeding out the reserves faster and faster. Sort of like spending 1.7 times your take home pay. That never ends well.
Your chart lies, I dont know how but it does, it cant be real, thats my argument agaisnt it. The worlds to big for anyone but God to change.
