Cap'n "Tip Jar Subsistence" for Trump's Labour Secretary

Because Nothing Says Happy Like a Gutload of Lava

Who better to serve as labour secretary than someone steeped in the idea of minimum wage politics?

Now please give a big, Donald Trump welcome to Andrew Puzder, fast food empresario and CEO of the company that owns the Hardee's and Carl Jr.'s burger chains.

Puzder, who served as an economic adviser to Trump during the campaign, is a critic of the Obama administration's labour policies, particularly the president's signature legislative achievement, the Affordable Care Act.

Puzder has a long record of spoken and written remarks on job creation. He has said he opposes an Obama administration rule that would expand the number of workers eligible for overtime pay. The rule, which would affect about 4.2 million workers, was temporarily blocked by a federal judge in November. Puzder also opposes efforts to raise the minimum wage.

Drainin' that swamp. Just a drainin' and a drainin' and a drainin'.

Update:

And there's more on Trump's "Clown Car" cabinet picks. How about Linda McMahon, CEO of the WWE wrestling league, perhaps best known for her ring antics kicking guys in the balls, to head the Small Business office?

  1. I would like to say things can't get much worse, Mound, but that would be unspeakably naive on my part.

  2. I've been to Carl's Juniors burger joint in Arizona and Nevada, Mound, and his claim to fame down there is that he hires people with disabilities to work there - which is think is great - but I'm willing to bet he gets tons of tax money that actually supports the pay cheques he passes out to employees every other Friday.

By the way, unless things have changed and I haven't noticed (still going to Arizona in winter) people who work in the service (food) industry are not covered by AZ's pitiful minimum wage act.
