A Trump-Free Day
A day off. Hell, I might make it a long weekend off. Screw Donald Trump. Screw his ratbag of advisers and spokespeople. Screw the Democrats too for that matter. Screw climate change. Screw the eco-crises, all of them, besetting the world. Screw Justin Trudeau and Christy Clark. Screw bitumen and pipelines and armadas of supertankers. Screw the fascists and their relentless attacks on democracy.
Screw 'em all. It's not like they're going anywhere. They'll all be around, like a stick jammed in the eye of everything decent and good, come Monday morning.
But, please, do wake me if they call down the 25th Amendment on that diabolical prick, the one in the picture, this weekend. He's come so unhinged, surely it's just a matter of time.
yeah its the ongoing saga that never stops, only gets worse, and he needs to be removed. Half the problem would be gone if they took his cell phone away:P

ReplyDeleteWould it, Deb? That cell phone has become an invaluable window into this bastard's twisted mind. I'd call it a non-stop Exhibit "A."
You hop on your BSA and take a beagle out to the woods to hear the music of the hound.
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way when we went to England, Mound. The 10 days we spent there, watching BBC News in the morning and evening, was a real tonic, since Trump was only mentioned in passing. Going abroad certainly puts our North American-centric obsessions in perspective.
ReplyDeleteFor when you have the stomach.

Dana
Actually they're both now on youtube. Easier.

Give yourself a weekend off. Go for a walk. Do some gardening.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dana. I watched both parts in one. Most of what is presented has been reported by others. The journos have tracked this down and verified their claims. Some of it was alluded to by Chris Steele, the ex-MI6 guy, in his controversial "dossier."
ReplyDeleteTrump, like so many "compromised" individuals, has compounded his problem by denying or pretending to deny these allegations. The minute he did that he was easy meat for the Russians.
@ LibScum - no chance of that. I've got relatives descending expecting a 5-course Japanese dinner. That reminds me, I have to get out the wet stones to sharpen by yanagiba.
ReplyDeleteOoohh...now you're just showin' off. :-)
ReplyDeleteDana, this information is stomach churning. Trump couldn't pass the security screening to make lieutenant, junior grade. His history and associations would flag him immediately as a security risk for several reasons. Yet now he has the nuclear launch codes.
ReplyDeleteNo one contemplated an individual as shady as Trump winning his party's presidential nomination much less the presidency itself.
I don't want to delve into conspiracy theory territory but, if you were an adversary of the United States and you identified that security lapse, might you not be tempted to get someone as compromised as Trump into the White House?
Tp be clear my comment about showing off was in reference to your yanagiba.
ReplyDeleteHalf the art of the yanagiba, Dana, is trying to master the sharpening. Get that wrong and it will probably be very dull no matter how much time and effort you put into it. I think they make it hard just to piss off old white guys like me.
ReplyDeleteComplex, opaque, internalized, esoteric rituals requiring many repetitions are a Japanese specialty. Do you play Go?
ReplyDeleteI've never even seen the game played, Dana. Do you play?
ReplyDeleteI once did and I still have a set but it's been years since I've had a playing partner.
ReplyDeleteTry not to fall asleep. :-)
