In Fairness, Vlad Was Pushing on an Open Door and an Empty Mind.

Russian president Vladimir Putin says Trump was "satisfied" with the Russian's assurances that Moscow did not meddle in America's 2016 elections.  Well, that's that then.

Speaking at the end of a G20 summit in Germany where the two leaders met face-to-face for the first time, Putin said he believed he had been able to establish a personal relationship with Trump, and that the initial groundwork had been laid for an improvement in US-Russian ties.

Their meeting was subject to intense scrutiny, following allegations that Moscow had tried to help Trump win the White House, and a Washington investigation into the Russia ties of Trump associates.

So, Vlad tells Don, "trust me, I did nothing to swing that election your way," and Donnie buys it.

  2. Considered opinion held that Putin would play Trump mercilessly. Seems he did.

  4. The whole 'blame the Russians' and impeach tRump is a yuge diversion. Dems (and fellow travelers, nudge nudge) have become the Greek chorus in this insane drama. ie part of the problem

If the Russkies interfered, (like the US does routinely around the world but we have yet to see ANY proof), they found very 'fertile ground' to sew their seeds of destruction.

but its not just mho ....
"The Democratic Party is doing incalculable damage to itself by shapeshifting into the party of baseless conspiracy theories, groundless accusations, and sour grapes. " Mike Whitney

and here's the related meme that really caps it....
"Naomi Klein tells Owen Jones that Donald Trump’s administration is using a ‘new formula’ for pushing through its agenda. Rather than the disaster capitalism she outlined in her book The Shock Doctrine, Klein says the Republican party is using Donald Trump’s ‘mental instability, out-of-control ego and general man-babyness’ to distract from their policies, which are ‘savaging’ environmental standards and already-inadequate
    financial regulations"

Its just another Republican presidency but without the gloss of good manners.

  5. I know your views on this, NPoV, and I'm not persuaded. No, I'm not swayed by Naomi Klein and her crew. Richard Clark, on the other hand, is someone I find highly credible, certainly enough that I'll take his word over your landscaper from Snohomish, Whitney, at least while the investigations are underway. Whitney is something of the blind man yelling "nothing to see here."

  6. Sal, Ivanka was their to fill Trump's seat at the table when he ducked out for one on one meetings. She was his "lieutenant" - a person occupying a post (tenant) in "lieu" of a real officer (captain and above). I don't think there are many who know the etymology of the lowly subaltern but now you do.
