Where will Trump attack this fall? That's a question that's been bandied about for some time in foreign policy circles. Iran has been one of the designated front runners. Vying for first spot is North Korea.
According to senator Lindsey Graham, Trump is leaning toward war with North Korea.
There will be war between the United States and North Korea over the rogue nation's missile program if it continues to aim intercontinental ballistic missiles at America, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said President Donald Trump has told him.
"He has told me that. I believe him," the lawmaker said Tuesday on TODAY. "If I were China, I would believe him, too, and do something about it."
"If there’s going to be a war to stop [Kim Jong Un], it will be over there. If thousands die, they’re going to die over there. They’re not going to die here. And He has told me that to my face," Graham said.
"And that may be provocative, but not really. When you're president of the United States, where does your allegiance lie? To the people of the United States," the senator said.
Likely more of the mad-dog act.
ReplyDeleteKeep foreign enemies off-guard, like he's doing to the media (and bloggers!) and various democratic institutions of society.
Exhaust us all while robbing us blind.
Here's my bet....
we will celebrate Christmas 2017 w/o the backdrop of a major war.
The distance between Seoul and Pyongyang is roughly 195 km. It is not as simple as making war on North Korea; an attack on Mad Dog Kim will certainly flow over the border. How many people is Mad Dog Trump willing to kill? How many Allies? How many of the 28,500 American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines stationed in South Korea? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Forces_Korea Does Trump realize that war against North Korea will most likely bring in its allies on the northern border, China and Russia? While North Korea's hardware is suspect, that's not so with China and Russia, each of which is capable of bringing the war to mainland US.
ReplyDeleteSo we have two bloated egos mouthing off at each other. Are they going to egg us into a major conflagration? Are they going to solve the world's overpopulation problem?
Do the American people realize how stupid this is? Probably not. They tend to cheer every attack any President makes.
I wish Rex Tillerson were president. Unfortunately, he isn't. But congress and world leaders are likely to bypass anything said by Trump about foreign relations unless it is verified by Tillerson.
ReplyDeleteFair enough, Chris, but who has the nuclear launch codes? Me, not a chance. Tillerson, hardly.
ReplyDeleteI've read that Trump is searching for a way to cancel the Iran nuclear deal. If that's true, the future is ominous.
