Trump Vows "Fire and Fury"

Donald Trump met with reporters today to fire a shot across Kim jong Un's bow. Trump warned the North Korean president that he would face "fire and fury like the world has never seen" should Pyongyang persist in hurling threats at the U.S.

Colin Powell's former chief of staff, retired colonel Lawrence Wilkerson says Trump is as worrisome as Kim:

  1. Little Kim responded by threatening a preemptive missile attack on Guam,

( which would be the US's staging area for a "beheading" strike),

The NORK FM also said that the Norks's nukes were only "targetted" at the US.

Little Kim's made it very clear that he's not going to go out like Saddam or Quafadi,

And their Share the Pain project is very close to ensuring a US War of Choice, won't just devastate the Korea's.

  2. Wilkerson is the first American I have heard talk sense about North Korea in a very long time. His appraisal is pretty much what I'm hearing from Korean friends. Thanks for posting that.

I know someone who has taken tours of the DMZ on both sides. Yes, he has been in North Korea. He says that when you hear the mandatory political speeches at the DMZ from both the North and South that both sound equally silly.

  3. Anyong....having spent many years in S. Korea and continued contact with a friend....I also think Wilkerson is the person who makes sense. While in S. Korea, Kim, Jung il's bombardment of Yeonpyeong was an artillery engagement between the North Korean military and South Korean forces stationed on Yeonpyeong Island on 23 November 2010. "INCHEON, South Korea (Reuters) - North Korea fired scores of artillery shells at a South Korean island on Tuesday, killing two soldiers, in one of the heaviest attacks on its neighbor since the Korean War ended in 1953.

The barrage -- the South fired back and sent a fighter jet to the area -- was close to a disputed maritime border on the west of the divided peninsula and the scene of deadly clashes in the past. South Korea was conducting military drills in the area at the time but said it had not been firing at the North." It was a warning by the North for the South not to bet to close. One has to remember there are 10 million displaced families between the north and south. However, China called Kim, Jung-il to Beijing.

  4. President Trump continues to routinely makes some of the most vacuous statements.
He can't seem to work his way out of that microcosmic "robber baron" world of his, even after taking on an occupation that involves being responsible for all factions of society. He honestly does not understand where most people of the world are coming from, because he's never lived his life the same way most others do.
He should have stayed within the "CEO realm" and never tried to take on anything outside of it the way he's done now.

  5. I still can't believe that he ever really wanted the job. He wanted the position, just not the job. Governance is a lot of work, tons of reading, long hours, conferences and debates. Ruling, however, is the stuff of emotions, biases, desire, and every base instinct. You're right. He has a dangerously feeble grasp of the state of the world or its people.
