Trump Impresses U.N. - Foresees the U.S. Having "No Choice But To Totally Destroy North Korea."

It's a safe bet that a lot of delegates to the United Nations had their worst suspicions of Donald Trump confirmed this morning.

"If the righteous many do not confront the wicked few, then evil will triumph," Trump said, as he detailed the horrors of what he called the "depraved" North Korean regime.

"Rocket man is on a suicide mission," he said, using a nickname for Kim that refers to the North's recent missile tests.

"The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea," Trump said during his address.

While the U.S. could take military action itself, Trump urged the U.N. to join together in curtailing North Korea's nuclear efforts.

"We meet at a time of both immense promise and great peril," Trump said, calling it up to the nations gathered at the U.N. General Assembly to decide whether the world grows to "new heights" or falls "into a valley of disrepair."

...

The president also took on Iran, dismissing the nuclear deal between Tehran and the U.S. and other key world powers which lifted sanctions in exchange for Iran curbing its nuclear program. Trump ripped the deal as an "embarrassment" and vowed that this would not be the last the world hears of the deal — "believe me."

Iran's future, Trump said, comes down to its people who could continue down their current road "or return to its ... roots as a center of civilization, culture and wealth."

  2. I've heard it mentioned, Troy, that Iran could obtain a "take and bake" nuclear device elsewhere. It's been called the "Islamic bomb." Given that Pakistan is the only Muslim nation with a nuclear arsenal the question is whether it would collaborate with Shiite Iran. Pakistan is 80% Sunni and just 20% Shia. Pakistan was friendly with Iran but that fell apart when the Shah was toppled.

My guess is that there's a lot less danger of Iran getting nukes than of a powerful benefactor or two engaging Iran to thwart any American adventurism. That could be more likely now that Trump has tacitly raised the spectre of America again bringing nuclear war to Asia, this time on China's doorstep. After Trump's performance today we'll be reading tea leaves for weeks.

  3. Neolib sissy cuckolds think the solution to every problem requires knee pads and chewing gum.

I'm sure the Boy would love his ego stroked by the likes of them. (People in his country have to do it at the point of a machine gun.) Thankfully they're no longer in charge.

    MAGA! MAGA! MAGA!

  4. It'll be Trump needing the kneepads if he plans on attacking North Korea. He'll have to pleasure a lot of the boys in Beijing before they'll let him issue any orders.

Here's a little something you haven't heard in your MAGA frenzy:

"In the three and a half decades since Ronald Reagan became president, by the best measurement of economic performance, China has soared from 10 percent the size of the US to 60 percent in 2007, 100 percent in 2014, and 115 percent today. If the current trend continues, China’s economy will be a full 50 percent larger than that of the US by 2023. By 2040 it could be nearly three times as large. That would mean a China with triple America’s resources to use in influencing outcomes in international relations. Such gross economic, political, and military advantages would create a globe beyond anything American policymakers can now imagine."

The sun is setting on America's influence in Asia. The US has been overtaken by China and before long it may be dwarfed. There aren't many things Trump understands but he does understand the Golden Rule - He Who Has the Gold, Rules. Today that's China and tomorrow it'll be China by a far bigger margin. C'mon, give us one of those "USA, USA, USA" chants. They're so quaint.

  5. Yes, 40 years of exporting Western jobs, factories, GDP, wealth & GHG emissions have made real fascist oligarchs dangerously wealthy. A real slob way to make money for oligarchs on both sides of the transaction.

The New Deal era was an economic boom predicated on human development. The way it's meant to be played. Not like this disgusting fraud that savaged the Western economy.

You want the world to become China? You neolibs are crazy!

  6. I agree with you up to a point, Anon. It's the "you neolibs" bit. I don't know anyone personally who I would describe as a neolib. That's because it was never presented openly as something anyone could subscribe to, anyone of the rank and file that is. How many people today even have a working understanding of neoliberalism, its facets and their dimensions? Damn few and I don't think that's accidental. Neoliberalism wasn't 'sold' to us. It really wasn't imposed on us in the traditional sense of that word. It was insinuated into our economic, political and social order, like the knife that you don't feel as you're stabbed in the back.

Imagine this. What if our political caste had to explain, defend and sell neoliberalism to us today. Do you think they would stand a chance of prevailing? I don't. Have you noticed that, while critics convincingly condemn neoliberalism and its impacts, our politicos never attempt to refute their criticisms. They go mute instead. There's a lesson in that.
