If You Want a Preview to the New Trump Book, It's Here.
Fire and Fury, Michael Wolff's soon to be released book about the first year of Donald Trump's presidency, already has the Mango Mussolini in knots. If you want a taste of what's to come, check out Wolff's piece published today in New York magazine.
.. got 1/3rd of the way through Ch One and had to quit.. its great reading but it rings way too true.. and I just can absorb such toxin in one sitting or reading..
I hear that, Sal. I forced myself to get through it but it leaves you feeling deeply discouraged that a man so wholly unfit for the office could become president in the United States.
This afternoon I read a piece that featured a gaggle of prominent Republican foreign affairs experts weighing in on the highs and lows of Trump's first year in office. They all came across like prospective courtiers, not one of them daring to breathe mention of their president's blatant psychological issues.
I think Obama and HRC are the one with psychological issues. They ran on ending two wars, but spread war and chaos across the Middle East. Trump comes to power and a year later ISIS is in full retreat. It turns out, all you have to do is stop arming the terrorists to defeat them. So who are the crazy people here?
Is taking bribes and murdering civilians to send a wave of Muslim refugees into Europe (for some twisted Deep State grand design) your idea of "fit for office?"
Reagan was a buffoon. Bush Jr. a worse one. The Clintons spread neoliberalism and bribe-taking corruption across the West. Obama had his hand out the entire 8 years he was in power: from betraying Americans on healthcare to betraying them on a predatory mortgage lending scam that leveled the economy (instead of helping people he bought up $2T in junk investments from predatory bankers with toxic asset insurance.) Carter expanded on Nixon. LBJ was a deplorable racist weasel. JFK killed the New Deal of FDR, Truman and Ike on an economic-to-social progressive pivot.
So it's been a long time since there has been anyone with anything resembling merit in the White House. Trump is the closest thing since Eisenhower. Sad but true.
I'd have thought that the terrorists who are now retreating would have had the sense to stockpile a good supply of the arms and ammunition that Trump's predecessors gave them as a means of addressing potential measures such as his embargo. Of course, maybe they did but Trump found out where they were hiding them and destroyed them. If that's the case, it's a good thing the Deep State never caught on and spoiled his plan.
ISIS, ISIL whatever was defeated in Syria by a Syrian military loyal to Assad ( as was the majority of the Syrian people ). An alliance with Russia helped. Trump and the US had nothing to do with the defeat of Daesh.
You seem to be fact deprived. Get in touch with me and I will send you some.
Not so fast rumleyfips with your "facts." The fact is that 'SIL whatever was defeated in Syria by a Syrian military loyal to Assad ( as was the majority of the Syrian people ). An alliance with Russia helped" ONLY when US stopped (mostly) to support ISIL in Syria and decided to bomb them to oblivion in Iraq.
The FACT is that for a couple of years ISIL was operating "a pipeline on wheels" consisting of few hundreds of 40 ton tankers exporting oil to neighboring countries for royalties. That pipeline was operated without any hindrance from US, Israelis, Saudis and even Iraqi air force. Now please tell me why ISIL was allowed to operate this scheme. Hint: it is very easy to find a convoy of tankers on a desert road.

There were hints of this but Wolff managed confirms it. Salamander is right; one can't read this all at one sitting.

ReplyDeleteSorry, Anon, but you're as unhinged as the guy you revere. Trump as Eisenhower? What are you, twelve?
