The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA, has announced a milestone. April was the
400th consecutive month of warmer-than-average temperatures. The last time NOAA logged a cooler-than-average month was 1984 during Ronald Reagan's second term in office. So that would be Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and the Trump administration - hot, hot, hot, baby.
400 consecutive months. That send a message. Maybe that's our new normal. Might we not come up with a new metric to make this warming a bit more meaningful?
We'll fix that!
ReplyDeleteDonald J. Trump @realDonald Trump
"I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that federal departments stop publishing information that supports the Chinese climate hoax."
That ought to stop the trend at 400 months!
Cap
ReplyDeleteJeebus, Cap.
More like a sigh of resignation than a "new normal".
ReplyDeleteA new metric will come by default, as a necessity I guess.
ReplyDelete"A sigh of resignation" - yeah, that pretty much sums it up, Tal. We have all these dandy yardsticks: 400 consecutive months, 400 ppm., 410 ppm. They just seem to roll in all by themselves reminding us that we're on autopilot.
Might we not come up with a new metric to make this warming a bit more meaningful?
ReplyDeletePerhaps we could have the WAF scale..
That is ; We Are Fucked, as we rightly are.
Be it global warming denialists or the NRA the world has it's head up it's arse.
Rights without responsibilities is not going to cut it.
Rights without responsibilities is but a denial of the realities of the world.
Even the "Progressives" have fallen for that false narrative.
