Notley Calls Election

Albertans will go to the polls April 16.

After weeks of speculation, NDP leader Rachel Notley has made it official: it's election time in Alberta.
The vote will take place on April 16, she said Tuesday morning in Calgary.
The start of the campaign comes one day after the NDP government delivered its throne speech in the legislature and amidst a near-constant stream of controversies involving their main rivals, the United Conservative Party.
Alberta requires a minimum, 28-day campaign.

  1. They had to wait for the CBC to broadcast the Kenny dirty tricks that They leaked and for it to get some legs.

I think Kenny could be on video fucking a cow and the inbred conservatives in Alberta would still vote for him.

  6. I find Notley infuriating. Smug, mendacious, patronizing, absolutely willing to forget all her scruples to kowtow to big oil, and then lecture those who haven't. And yet if I lived in Alberta I think I would find myself in the horrifying position of having little option but to vote for her.
Kenney is just too awful to sit idle and allow in. The man's a racist, he wishes he could be up front about being a fascist, a criminal . . . worse than nihilistic, his every impulse and policy seem dedicated to actively destroying, whether it's the world or the fabric of society.

    1. I think what pisses PLG off is that Notley and the NDP in the previous election, ran on in part, the environment and transitioning Alberta away from tar, towards Green Jobs.

Once elected her Government swiftly pivoted to using every bullying tactic, legal and illegal, to ramming their filthy tar down the rest of Canada’s throats, no matter the consequences.

  8. The fuck are you talking about? No, it's because I believe global warming is real and because I don't want oil spills in my waters, and she's busy ramming a fucking pipeline down my throat. And even though as an NDPer she knows perfectly well it's terrible for the planet and knows perfectly well the corporate claims there won't be any spills and will be untold masses of jobs are bogus lies, she pretends otherwise and tells those of us who point out what she would once have had the backbone to say herself, that we're destroying the economy and similar bullshit. She lectures the premier of BC like he's some errant child, except in a spiteful manner that would get you in trouble with the school board--even though she knows he's right. She talks amazingly like some Texas oil flim-flam artist like, say, Rich Kinder--and then calls herself a New Democrat.
I generally say nasty things about guys who operate like that, too.

  9. Say, Anonymous--shouldn't you be ragging me that I'm talking smack about Kenney because he's a man? I said way worse about him than about Notley. But as with Notley, it wasn't gender I was criticizing.
