Assange Turfed/Arrested

WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, has been taken into custody by British police. Assange was nabbed after Ecuador stripped him of his diplomatic immunity. He had been holed up in Ecuador's London embassy for seven years during which Assange and his cat had become an increasing annoyance to the legation.

The US has requested extradition but it's not clear what Britain has in store for Assange.

  1. The lion share of blame belongs to the "democratic" Sweden which instigated and willingly enabled this dark day for freedom.

  2. Dark day, indeed. Not really. It looks like he had to be dragged, kicking and screaming, out of the embassy.

  3. Funny how Asange has been both a hero and villain to most...

Wikileaks has been of great service.

  5. If someone could unravel the Assange <-> Russia <-> The Donald's campaign and business interests connected thereto <-> The Sweden sexual assault allegations <-> The Ecuadorean Embassy <-> The British connection -> and a few other things that are mixed in here .. if someone could précis that for me in 25 words or less I would be most appreciative.

    1. Wikileaks/Assange started out as “information wants to be free” Libertarian hacktivists exposing MIC/Plutocrats secrets.

They blew Snowden’s cover and he had to flee.

Over time they became Conspiracy Theorists/Russian Hactivist’s who worked with Russia, Cambridge, and Treason Twitler’s Campaign to ratfuck the 2016 Election ections and Brexit.

When Reality Winner leaked to them documents proving Russian interference and electoral hacking, they burned her to the Feds and now she’s in jail.

Assange thought it would be fun to rape some Swedish girls. When the Swedish prosecutors wanted to interview him, he ran. The Brits got an extradition request from Sweden, Assange fled from a hearing to the Ecuadorian Embassy. The Brits put out an arrest warrant for contempt of court.

The Obama DOJ declined to indite Assange because of the first amendment.

Ecuador got tired of their houseguest. He didn’t take care of his cat, ( who was eventually rescued by the RSPCA), smeared shit on the walls, didn’t shower, hacked and leaked Ecuadorian secrets, and Assange/Wikileaks ratfucked the Ecuadorian Elections in favour of the right wing douches, not the Leftie who gave him asylum.

The Trump DOJ indicted Assange/Wikileaks on the basis that they did not just receive stolen secrets, ( that’s legal), but they actively aided and abetted the stealing of secrets, ( that’s illegal).

Now Trump says he doesn’t know Assange/Wikileaks.

That’s the soap opera so far, sorry it’s more than 25 words.

  6. Ecuador's former president, who first provided asylum to Assange and under whom Moreno served as vice president, suggested Assange was arrested in retaliation for exposing corruption under Moreno.

  9. Anon 5:13 PM, April 11, 2019 - That is a profound and absurd and somewhat accurate description of what you have so neatly summarized as a "soap opera." In the immortal words of Kelly Bundy, "The mind wobbles."

Thank you for the insight. smile

  10. So perhaps the most impactful journalist of our times is going to be handed over to the tender mercies of the Americans which we know will involve lots of things that would normally be called torture but they will pretend are not. He is quite likely to stay in durance vile for the rest of his life for the crime of exposing the truth. It's a horrific precedent which is intended to give pause to anyone else thinking of getting out of line.

But his cat was annoying, so that's all right then, totally understandable.

    1. Wikileaks handed over 1500 US State Department Cables, unredacted, to the Government of Belarus. Those cables contained the names of Democracy Activists, anti-Corruption Activist, bloggers, journalists, Human Rights Activists.

The Belarus Government used the cables to rig their relection and disappeared 1200 activists.

Wikilieaks also published, unredacted, the names of the same activists in China. 32,000 have disappeared.

They did the same thing with the Afghan and Iraqi guides and translators working against al Quida, ISIL and the Taliban.

During the 2016 Election they republished Russian Disinfo, Seth Rich Conspiracy Theory and Clinton Cash bull shit.

When offered a massive trove of hacked Russian Government documents showing corruption, fraud and the persecution of dissidents, they declined to publish them.

  11. Anyone following American Imperialism, has a good idea, why the Deep State wanted Assange silenced. Noam Chomsky's comment provides an important context to why Assange was arrested. It's worth a listen.

  12. Anonymous 6:14 Yeah, that sounds like a pack of lies to me. Wikileaks has been quite careful about that kind of stuff. Adding to my suspicions is that I hate to tell you, but the stuff about Clinton is true. Lots of people would prefer they hadn't published it, or had waited to publish it until it didn't matter, but nobody serious disputes that it's factual, so if you think/claim it isn't your credibility goes poof right there. What you're doing is retailing black propaganda, basically.

  13. Purple Library Guy: I agree. The charge on the U.S. extradition order is fabricated of course. He's being charged with conspiracy with Chelsea Manning, to commit computer intrusion. Assange as your probably already aware did not leak anything, he published the leaks of Chelsea Manning. As to Anonymous 6:14 claim that Assange declined to publish a "trove of "hacked" Russian documents," Assange did in fact publish 800,000 Russian government documents. Some of those documents were used as evidence against the Russian government, in the court cases that followed. As you said, nobody disputes that what Assange published wasn't factual. The powerful truth about what the U.S. Imperial state is really doing, is the gift that Assange gave to the American people and to the world for that matter. This means of course that the U.S and the global Deep State, wants him stopped.

To see the lengths that the U.S. NSA will go to to stop anyone from exposing the truth. this is a really amazing documentary, about Bill Binney who was a technical director of the NSA and became a whistle blower. The part about 9/11 is fascinating. If you haven't seen it, it's really worth a watch.
