How the Brits Lost the Revolutionary War

That explains it. The Brits under Cornwallis made a huge strategic blunder. They forgot to defend the airports that were promptly seized by the forces of George Washington.

Worse yet, the Brits failed to take Fort McHenry, leaving Washington's people in control of Baltimore harbour in 1814.

That, at least, is how Trump's addled mind recalls events. Airports in 1776? That sounds a bit unlikely. So does a battle from the war of 1812, time shifted to the war of independence.

During his tribute to the army, Trump said: “In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified army out of the revolutionary forces encamped around Boston and New York … The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware, and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown.
“Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory.”
As for the "nothing but victory" line. Trump obviously doesn't know that Washington was repeatedly trashed in several engagements, nearly brought to defeat. And "ramming" the ramparts? What in hell is that?

If another president, any other president, especially a black president, had so botched American history - the stuff kids learn in grade school - it would send the media in an uproar questioning that president's mental health and fitness for office. This, however, is Donald Trump and America is pretty much accustomed to this president acting like a profoundly ignorant buffoon.

  1. And, apparently, Bell invented the telephone in the US. Not! He invented it in Brantford, Ontario. First long-distance call was from Brantford to Paris, Ontario.

And, Edison invested the light bulb. Not! Woodward & Evans, 2 Canadians, filed the patent in 1874. They sold the patent to Edison in 1879.

But, then again, there were airports in the US in 1776! So, I guess they beat Canada at that one!

  3. Mound, your spelling is off - it's "ramming the ram parts." Trump obviously means the Continental soldiers weren't too particular about their sheep.

  4. .. presumably, there's a Tump Family plot in a cemetary somewhere.. where Donald can arrange a stupid huge 'monument' to his 'greatness. It could only require one word carved in stone - JACKASS and anybody would know who it described. I believe folks will come from far and near just to piss on it.. and leave sacks of shit behind.. All the rest of the scumbags deserve the same treatment too. Mitch McConnell, Stephen Miller, Alex Jones et al.. LIAR, CONNIVER.. THIEF.. CONSPIRATOR.. INSANE.. CHEAT.. Asshole.. there's a lot more terms, names, insulting fact..

In my view it points to what a complete disease locus 'politics' & 'governance' has become. A gathering point for the GREEDY, JACKALS & PARASITES. Look what a shambles the Conservative Party has become. Its simply astonishing to imagine them back in power. Or the continuing failure of The Liberal Party to put the brakes on their own descent into failure. A huge opportunity exists for The Green Party.. Can The Greens kick enough doors in be consequential.. ?? To take on a role and jam this country into a 4 year Minority Government.. play hardball ! That seemed to be a chance The NDP squandered

Canada better watch out.. big time.. as the two big smirking Parties try to grind elections and governance into the disaster zone American Politics became.

  5. Perhaps the best way to explain history to Trump is to say that during the Revolutionary War, the entire world was a no-fly zone.

  6. America already knew about Trump. Now they have to worry about the political aspirations of the guy who hires his speechwriters.

  7. People want to argue with me every time I state the U.S. has, pretty much, become a third-world nation
...then something like President Trump's Fourth of July speech comes up, and with it proof of the States' loss of pride, self-esteem, integrity and dignity.
And, apparently, also of its knowledge of some of its own past.
