I'm Not Sure How Lindsey Gets Himself Out of This One.

Since John McCain died, Lindsey Graham has spent most of his time on his knees at Donald Trump's feet. I wonder how this is going to play out with Lindsey's new master.

The best part is this isn't a Biden campaign ad. This ad is the handiwork of Republican Voters Against Trump.

  1. Don Trump's going to be in a towering rage when he sees this one. Lady G will have to put on the gimp suit again.

  3. LG lost his spine when McCain died. It's disturbing to watch anyone fall that far, that fast. I would have more sympathy for Graham if he hadn't allowed himself to become so venomous in his defence of Trump. His scowling attacks on Trump critics showed me a side of this guy that I was unaware of. It's not so much schadenfreude, it's more "you made your bed, now lie in it."

I never understood why Trump recruited LG. Everyone knew what Graham had said about Trump in the nomination contest. They had to realize that would surface in this campaign. The flowery praise of Joe Biden. That I wasn't aware of.

Who are you going to believe, Lindsey Graham or Lindsey Graham?

  4. Mound, two points here - ever wonder what Trump has on LG? and why is it that the best ads against Trump are coming from the Repugs?

  5. Somewhere, the ghost of John McCain is lobbying to make a midnight visit to Lindsey, Mound,

  6. Mound, ever wondered why the Repugs make the political ads the Dems should be making? They make really effective ones, I guess the Dems are afraid to be bold!

  7. Howcum the Repugs make better ads than the Dems?

  8. Ben, there's no end of speculation on what Trump might be using to domesticate Lindsey Graham. I, too, see his conversion inexplicable. This ad drives that home. Other Repugs have capitulated, turned docile, supported Trump just enough to avoid the wrath of his "base." Graham has gone light years beyond that. Is he under coercion? That seems likely but what, how? Homosexuality is the first thing that comes to mind from what I've read. Lindsey, always turned out like a real Southern gentleman, never married, no known girlfriends - yada, yada, yada. He stopped attacking Trump. He went through the reluctant supporter phase. Now he comes out like Trump's rabid pitbull. That's all I know.

  9. Owen, I'm not sure the apparition of John McCain would be powerful enough to redeem Lindsey now. The Senate just authorized Graham's justice committee to start interrogating Trump's critics. What is this, Tailgunner Lindsey?

  10. Ben, on your last point, we're talking about establishment Republicans fighting, not to win this election, but to reclaim their party and prevent its ultimate destruction. There was a milder version of this in 2015 in the former PC conservative ranks. They wanted to topple the Harper contagion. Some supported Justin, others abstained. A core worked to undermine the Reform/Alliance/Conservative movement. Of those there were Tories, some of whom I've known for decades, who truly feared what Harper, given the chance to take Canada to his "next level" might have done to Canada. There's a term of art lawyers use, mainly in seeking injunctions, called "irreparable harm." It has a somewhat unique legal context. That's what they intended to derail. I think today's patrician Republicans find themselves in exactly the same position.

  11. Even Stephen Harper couldn't ascribe this one to "evolution".

I'll put it down to "Enquiring minds want to know" for now.

  12. .. Twitter is atwitter with Washington area male escort threads chortling about Lady G .. How that goes over in his Carolina base, I have no idea. I myself hold to the old Trudeau maxim that government has no business in the hotel bedrooms of the nation.

  13. Maybe the nation should have no business in the bedrooms of the guys it entrusts to govern it. We're not doing business here; our interest is purely salacious. We're too busy laughing now and we don't want our good time to be interrupted, so we'll think about business tomorrow and maybe we won't even bother. Business can be way too serious.

  14. I wasn't aware of the "Lady G" business before, Sal. I don't care about sexual preferences except if it is used to pressure a politician, to fetter their vote and their duty to the public. I did a bit of checking and LG has been a reliable supporter and quite popular with some powerful, anti-LGBTQ groups. He said he "accepts" the court rulings on same sex marriage but then adds these individuals should have full rights, "consistent with the religious beliefs of others who have rights also." If someone's religion is offended by same-sex or alternate-sex people, then you don't have to sell them a wedding cake or let them rent your apartment or perhaps provide medical care.

In other words, LG is a hypocritical bag of shit, which is the same as saying he's a Republican senator from the slave state south.

  15. I should add that Graham scores 100 per cent with the Concerned Women for America.

  16. .. the entire 'cottage industry' of partisan 'Politics' is a parasitic hotbed... a throbbing gristle nightmare world of diseased thinking & related behavior.. call it 'fantasy land' called it whatever.. I constantly rail against partisanship.. and its attendant comorbid hypocricy - malice - fear of discovery - quid pro woe (sic) and SITUATIONAL ETHICS.. The classic 'spend more time with family' evasions are run up the flagpole almost daily.

We see this at a high or intense level with Lady G - we saw a variation with James Moore blowing Ottawa due to ridemewilfred texts found on a cel phone of one of his journalism playmates & Tony Clement who lost track of his weenie wagging on social media. Most just declare they found jesus and as well are receiving medical care for their un.. anxieties.. but now its 'family time'

The old joke about being caught or blackmailed because 'he was caught in bed with an underage girl'.. being a survivable scandal.. but being caught in bed with a live boy is not survivable.. probably is apropos re Graham. It reminds of the odd Hollywood therapeutics that utilized hamsters.. Who knows what Jeffrey Epstein knew.. or videotaped ? Do we really want to know ? In this era of constant kompramat.. quid pro .. where did the money go (indeed where did the money come from.. and for what ?)

Among my friends & family .. I'm known to be a guy that keeps a secret (forever) .. as well as a guy who is intolerant of 'locker room talk' or sexual boasting.. swinging.. or ANYTHING about my buds or girl buds re infidelities - adventures in Miami.. whatever. Translation - 'too much information'.. I know it will conflict me. Come to me if ever assaulted, threatened, stalked.. (and several have) & I will go to war for you.. but your peccadillos ? Try to confide & I will walk away.. aint my bag, never will be

At the same time.. I am delighted & intigued by verifiable tales of those who seem desirous of 'drama' .. the 'double life'. the evasions, denials, countersuites, the he said she said.. One of my fave contemplations is not the breakfast discussions or end of day 'how was your day, dear' of Kelly Anne and George Conroy.. it pales before my curiosity of a loving couple that are both Sumpreme Court justices.. sharing a morning omelette.. and 'dancing around discretion'.. sharing the same mischievous smile over an obvious idiot like Lindsay Graham or Alex Jones.. and the malice certain diseased scumbags can summon

  17. I find it difficult to muster much sympathy for Graham who has done so much for social conservative bigotry. I know, I know - it's "the south" and all but where does his integrity, his decency reside? A Faustian bargain to be sure. The photos of him snarling at witnesses, his bony finger pointing as his forehead glistens with sweat - that's the face of Graham in the post-McCain era.
