Maybe These Are the "End Times" or Someone Left the Asylum Door Unlocked Again

I take it all back.  Maybe there is a God.  After all there must be someone of the stature of a deity driving America's right wingnuts batshit crazy.  A case in point - Glenn Beck.

Glenn Beck has washed his hands of the Republican Party.  Why?  Because they're a bunch of closet commie lefties in his mind.

“They ran and they said they were doing all of these great things and they were going to stand against Obamacare and illegal immigration – they set us up. They set us up. Enough is enough. They’re torpedoing the constitution and they’re doing it knowingly. They’re taking on people like Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and they are torpedoing them. Knowingly,” Beck said.

“So I’m done with them,” the onetime Fox News host concluded. “Four years ago I was with them. Four years ago I said work from the inside: let’s change it. Let’s get new guys in there. It’s too late.”

And Beck wasn't just done with the GOP.  He then turned his guns (pardon the pun) on the National Rifle Association, the NRA.
Beck thinks NRA board member, wait for it - Grover Norquist, might be an Islamist sleeper agent.

Glenn Beck says he may drop his membership in the National Rifle Association amid (baseless) fears that the organization has been infiltrated by radical Islamists — a conspiracy theory that centers on anti-tax activist and NRA board member Grover Norquist, who is currently seeking re-election to the board.

Peddled primarily by neoconservative campaigner and former Reagan administration official Frank Gaffney, the charge is this: Norquist is a man ”actively involved, both enabling and empowering, Muslim Brotherhood influence operations against our movement and our country.” As Media Matters’ Tim Johnson notes, much of Gaffney’s “evidence” concerns the fact that Norquist has Muslim family members. But while the board of the American Conservative Union unanimously determined that Gaffney’s claims lacked any foundation, Beck said on Wednesday night that he’s “heard enough” to convince himself that Norquist is “a very bad man.

Whatever you do, don't tell Glenn those chin whiskers make him look awful Bolshie.

White Trash, Nothing But White Trash

This is how I define "lowlife" - people who exploit the Japanese disaster, like these miscreants and reprobates:

Is Beck Too Much Even For FOX?

Is FOX News ready to ditch Glenn Beck?  New York Times media columnist, David Carr, claims that FOX execs have about had it with this lunatic:

He still has numbers that just about any cable news host would envy and, with about two million viewers a night, outdraws all his competition combined. But the erosion is significant enough that Fox News officials are willing to say — anonymously, of course; they don’t want to be identified as criticizing the talent — that they are looking at the end of his contract in December and contemplating life without Mr. Beck.

On the other side, people who work for Mr. Beck point out that he could live without Fox News. Unlike some other cable hosts, Mr. Beck has a huge multiplatform presence: he has sold around four million books, is near the top of talk-radio ratings, has a growing Web site called The Blaze, along with a stage performance that still packs houses. Forbes estimated that his company, Mercury Radio Arts, had more than $30 million in revenue.

How could a breakup between Mr. Beck and Fox News — a bond that seemed made in pre-Apocalyptic heaven — come to pass? They were never great friends to start with: Mr. Beck came to Fox with a huge radio show and had been on CNN Headline News, so he did not owe his entire career to Fox and frequently went off-message. The sniping between Fox News executives and Mr. Beck’s team began soon after he went on the air in 2009.

Many on the news side of Fox have wondered whether his chronic outrageousness — he suggested that the president has “a deep-seated hatred for white people” — have made it difficult for Fox to hang onto its credibility as a news network. Some 300 advertisers fled the show, leaving sponsorship to a slew of gold bullion marketers whose message dovetails nicely with Mr. Beck’s end-of-times gospel. Both parties go to some lengths to point out that that the discussion has nothing to do with persistent criticism from the left.

The idea of FOX without Beck isn't all that appealing.  If anything, Glenn Beck shows FOX as it truly is.   He IS what FOX is all about and nobody, including Hannity and O'Reilly, shows that more clearly than Glenn Beck.  This guy is the unhealing scab.

Top US Rabbis Slam Glenn Beck

A group of top American Rabbis representing the spectrum of Jewish belief has placed a full page ad in the Washington Post asking Rupert Murdoch to sanction Glenn Beck.   The ad is signed by the heads of the Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist Jewish movements.

The Rabbis are apparently inflamed by Beck's three-part series denouncing George Soros as a "Jewish boy helping to send the Jews to the [Nazi] death camps."

They're also outraged at Fox News chief Roger Ailes who defended Beck's constant Nazi references, dismissing Beck's critics as, "left-wing rabbis who basically don't think that anybody can ever use the word 'Holocaust' on the air."

The ad was said to have cost somewhere in the six figures.   Fox has not responded to new enquiries.

Glenn's Kampf

Revolution?   Civil War?  "Shoot them in the head?"

I think the Left is much too quick to lambaste the Right as akin to Nazis but this sounds like something straight out of a Munich bierkellar

Land of the Free, Home of the Brave

This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.
~Elmer Davis

I didn't read or watch much of the coverage of Glenn Beck's rally in Washington yesterday.  It wasn't necessary.  We've seen it all before, countless times - during Obama's election campaign, at Tea Party gatherings, at Sarah Palin appearances and on FOX broadcasts.  It's a crawly underside of America that was once confined to Klan rallies.

It was America at its very worst, America both fearful and angry.   The American Right have become masters at using the toxic brew of fear and anger to manipulate their supporters.  It speaks volumes that the Uber-Right use fear against their own.   They make them embrace fear and helplessness to fan their anger.   Once in that state they can be told and expected to believe just about anything - Obama was born in Kenya, Obama is a Muslim, Obama bailed out the banks with the TARP programme, Obama is plotting to institute "death panel" healthcare, Obama is weak on terrorism, Obama is plotting to impose socialism on America, even that they need people like Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, Limbaugh and Palin (now the self-styled, "Defending Fathers") to save them.
How can so very many people be so profoundly stupid?

It's easy.   Their fear and anger have been harnessed by miscreants like Beck to transform them into sheep who will drive hundreds, even thousands of miles, to honour the master who has enslaved their feeble minds.   They somehow believe Glenn Beck has empowered them even as he has lashed them to his rancid, fictitious ideology.   He has so fettered their minds that he can feed them pretty much anything he likes.

This is powerful stuff.   Taken far enough it can be very dangerous.  At its extreme lies North Korea where villagers have been known to sacrifice their lives running into a burning town hall to "rescue" the mandatory photograph of Kim Jung Il.  That is the pinnacle of fear and anger used to pry loose any vestige of critical thinking.  It is something that, for now, people like Beck can only admire from a distance.

The message is seductive to those oppressed by their own fears and anger - a restoration of a "better time."  After decades of a giant, debt-driven bacchanal, America's good times are on the wane.  Ever since the days of the foolishly adored Ronald Reagan, America has been living well beyond its means.  The notion that this bygone madness can somehow be restored by a return to religious and political fundamentalism isn't really all that far off from the logic that besets so many North Koreans, is it?  That's infantile thinking, a fantasy that actually discourages introspection.

The Beckerheads haven't figured out that, especially in challenging times, the way ahead isn't open to the cowed and the bitter.   The last door that sheep pass through is the entrance to the abbatoir.  Guess who's waiting for them on the other side?   Why that would be those same Defending Fathers and those they serve.

Glenn Beck's Sponsors Voting With Their Feet

Tens of thousands of people outraged at the maniacal filth spewed daily by FOX News' Glenn Beck have stood up and been heard. They've signed a petition to Beck's advertisers at ColorofChange.Org. It's working.

Beck is finally turning into a financial pariah. So far Proctor & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, Lawyers.com and now Geiko have dumped Beck and announced they'll not sponsor his show ever again.

If you haven't yet added your name to the petition, go here:

http://www.colorofchange.org/beck/

Beck's latest outrage is to tell his positively stupid viewers that Obama's hidden agenda in his social policies is "reparations." He's getting back at all those dirty White slavers. Yeah, sure Glenn.
UPDATE - Beck's reeling. By some accounts upwards of 20-30 sponsors have now bailed on his show - even Wal Mart has dumped this cretin. FOX News says, no sweat, they've just shifted their ads to other shows BUT that's a dodge. Beck used to make FOX some serious bread. That's why they gave him prime slots in their airtime. Now he's approaching the commercial value of dead air. It couldn't happen to a more deserving creep.
